What is the Recommended Tire Pressure for the Karrier ST145R12 Radial Trailer Tire AM10140
Published 03/20/2016 >
Question:
I ordered these tires with an aluminum rim. I am wondering if I need to keep the air pressure at 80 psi like I would in the bias tires that these will be replacing the total weight of the boat and trailer they will be on is around 1,500 pounds when loaded.

Expert Reply:
With trailer tires you have to keep the pressure at the max rating that you see listed on the sidewall. For the part # AM10140 that you referenced you would need to keep the tire inflated to it's 80 psi max rating. This ensures that you get the full capacity for the tire and prevents heat build up which ultimately causes tire failure.
