Question:

I have a 2009 Heartland Landmark 5th wheel. The height from ground to bottom of door is 38. Will the AS24 work? We do not like the steps that are on our camper now, too steep. Could I leave our current steps on camper and mount AS24 to top? Thanks

The Brophy scissor steps # AS24 can be used on 31 inch to 39 inch distances, and since your RV is 38, these will work well for your application.

Scissor steps # AS24 include a mounting bracket, see picture, that mounts to the frame under the door of your trailer. These are not meant to be mounted all the time so they would have to be removed when towing the trailer. As long as you have the space for this mounting bracket under your RV door and deactivate any automatic step release on your old steps then you won't have to uninstall the previous set. This will mount about 1/8 of an inch below the door. The mounting bracket measures 24 inches long by 1 inch tall and 1 inch wide.

To add even more stability and safety to these steps, I recommend the hand rail # AHR4.
