Solution for Weathertech Floor Mats with Edges that Want to Curl Up
Updated 09/29/2024 | Published 02/27/2016 >
Question:
Good afternoon, I purchased Weathertech floor mats from your company in August, 2015, for my 2012 Honda Pilot. The 2nd row mat, however, is curling at the inside edge behind both my passenger and drivers seat. My toddlers have their booster seats in those positions, second row. The dirt, food crumbs, and even small toys are lodging themselves between my carpet and my floor mat. Is this a defect in the product, or is there something that I can do to promote the mat to cling to my cars carpet instead of curling inward? I can provide pictures if needed. Thank you,

The Weathertech floor mats sometimes will be curled up when new and in cold environments and what our contacts at Weathertech advise is to roll them up the opposite direction they are wanting to curl up for a few minutes and then try installing them again and they should be the correct shape.

I had a bad curl up on the edge of my drivers side floor mat. I folded the mat in the opposite direction and placed the leg of my wood table on it overnight. It worked. Fine now.

I probably would not have purchased this product if I had seen all the comments about the mats rolling up. I bought it to replace my liner made by Smart Liner simply because I wanted a different color. My Smart liner is heavy duty, was shipped in a flat box and the edges rolling was never an issue. I thought WeatherTech would be a better product.

NEGATIVE. The products plastic material is too thick to just roll the opposite way for a few minutes. Id have to lay them out in my garage for days with a brink or something heavy to allow them to straighten out. In which case defeats the purpose of having these mats in my truck. Mine have been doing this curl up for almost as long as Ive had them. Is there no other way to ensure they lay flat at all times? This seems to be a flaw in the product itself. I should be able to live in Antarctica, and not have to worry about this flaw.
