Before attempting to flat tow your vehicle, I'd recommend checking the owner's manual or with Subaru about any procedures or modifications required to flat tow the vehicle. I was unable to access an online copy of your owner's manual. Usually, manual transmission vehicles can be flat towed without modification, but if the vehicle is AWD or has an automatic transmission, the vehicle will often need some modification.
To flat tow the vehicle, you'll need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring and a supplemental braking system. Depending on the hitch height of your Baja, you might also need a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar within 3 inches +/- of level.
I prefer Blue Ox base plates and tow bars. Their drawbar system is easier to use, and in most cases when the drawbars are removed, what remains is less visible than with other options. For a base plate, I'd recommend the # BX3611 base plate along with the Blue Ox Alpha # BX7380 tow bar. The Alpha is reasonably priced and is easy to use. The tow bar includes safety cables, and will self align and automatically lock into place, meaning that the vehicle doesn't need to be perfectly lined up behind the RV in order to hook up.
For a lighting solution, you can go with a simple, easy to use solution like a magnetic mount tow lamp, part # RM-2120 or a permanently wired system like the Blue Ox Bulb and Socket kit, part # BX8869. The bulb and socket kit would require installing an additional set of bulbs into your taillight assemblies. This allows for a permanent installation, without requiring that you tap into any of the vehicle's taillight circuits which can leave them vulnerable to damage.
If you're planning on flat towing frequently, using the more permanent bulb and socket kit would be easier in the long run. You'll also need an umbilical to connect the trailer connector to the Bulb and Socket kit. I'd recommend part # BX88254.
For a supplemental braking system, I'd recommend a portable system like the Blue Ox Patriot, part # BLU37TR. Permanently installed units require hours of expensive shop labor to install, while the Patriot installs in minutes.
When installed, the base plates will be about 15 inches above the ground, depending on if your Baja is at factory ride height. If the receiver height or the RV is more than 3 inches higher or lower than that, you'll need to use a high-low adapter, which are available in various heights. If you click the provided link, you can see our selection of high-low adapters.
