Will Adding Trailer Brakes to One Axle of a Trailer Make the Wheels Stick Out Further
Published 02/25/2016 >
Question:
I am going to add electric brakes to my tandem 3500lb landscape trailer. im only doing one of the two axles. will this make one axle/tire combo wider than the other?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Installing brakes on one axle will not make the wheels stick out any further than the idler axle. The brake hubs are designed to be the exact same thickness as the idlers so you would not have to worry about that.
I attached a help article that will walk you through the process of adding brakes to your trailer for you to check out.
