The difference in the spacing for the # APTT5 hanger kit comes in to play with the center spring due to the additional components attached at each end of the spring.
Both the first spring and last spring have the same spacing since they are each attached to the hanger at one end and the equalizer at the other. The center spring however is attached to two equalizers. Since the center spring doesn't contact a hanger directly, some additional space is needed between the hangers to accommodate the spring and equalizer.
We have found that the measurements provided to us in the chart from the manufacturer are best used as a guideline, as they sometimes allow too much room between the hangers. I recommend clamping everything in place on the trailer first to check the spacing.
For the measurements you noted, with spacing for PR722, PR3, PR4, PR4B, PR5, and PR6 springs, a good place to start with the spacing for the middle hangers is 33 inches. At 33 inches, the spacing accounts for the length of a spring and the 2 halves of the equalizers, 25-1/4 inches + 3-7/8 inches + 3-7/8 inches.
If you find this spacing to be too close for your springs, you can begin increasing the distance between the hangers. You will likely find that the end spacing is somewhere between 33 inches and 34 inches.
