Good question. You are correct that the # A2252CB-GALV is 2-7/8" tall. When measuring an equalizer we will always go from center hole to center hole. The best way to measure the height is to first draw a line between the two lowermost holes, then draw a line from the center of the top hole and go down until you hit the first line you drew. The length of the vertical line will be the height. I have edited the image below to illustrate.

When replacing an equalizer, it is imperative that the replacement equalizer is identical in size to the original.

I was looking to upgrade my equalizer on my fifth wheel travel trailer. The current dimensions of my equalizer are 5 and 3/4 horizontally and vertically. It is 2 in. I would like to get some kind of equalizer that has a bit of suspension to it. Thank you for your help

@Edward For your size equalizer I recommend the Dexter E-Z Flex # K71-652-00. This is the same dimensions as your original equalizer. The integrated cushioning helps absorb road shock and limit chucking making for a smoother ride all around. This would be a simple replacement and fit exactly how your original one does. What kind of trailer are you looking to do this on?
