Will the B and W hitch part # BWHDRH25132 be Tall Enough to Install on 1998 Dodge Ram
Published 01/06/2016 >
Question:
the hitch that is said to be an exact fit for my truck doesnt look like it will fit. The OEM hitch currently installed on my truck has mounting flanges that extend several inches vertically and attach to the top of the frame. Resulting in the reciever to be several inches lower than the mounting surface. Similar to this: 15409curt-hitch any thoughts? Thanks

The B and W hitch part # BWHDRH25132 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 1998 Dodge Ram. I confirmed this with B and W. It looks like the hitch will sit up higher than your factory hitch since the vertical mounting brackets are shorter. We had customers come back with the same truck as your say that it fit well.
The main difference with this hitch vs. the ones that appear to hang lower is that the vertical height difference appears different because the hitch tube attaches to the bottom of the crosstube on the B and W hitch and on the hitch you have installed it is at the same height as the crosstube. This makes the brackets taller.
