Question:
I have a 2015 Subaru Outback with a factory installed hitch and 4 pin connector. I need a brake controller for a Scamp 13 trailer 1500 lbs, Is there a controller that I can install without hard wiring it? The local trailer placed wants $500 to install a 7 pin connector and a controller. Thanks

I have a solution for you, but there are only hardwire options for installing a brake controller in your 2015 Subaru Outback wagon.
You will need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
You could certainly save some money by installing all the products mentioned yourself. Use the attached video as a guide for this.
