Question:
I have a 2008 Chev Silverado 1 ton single rear wheel long bed truck with a factory installed Class V hitch rated for 7,500 towing and 1,000 hitch weight. With weight distribution it has a 1,500 hitch weight and 13,000 pd towing capacity. I have a 26 foot travel trailer style toy hauler rated at 13,000 Gross vehicle weight. Really no sway problems but the trailer is heavy on front around 1,000 pds and squats truck some. Also want to put an atv weighing around 800 pds in bed of truck while towing toy hauler. Class V has 2 1/2 receiver but can use a 2 Recommendation for WD hitch and option of adding sway control? Thanks!

I would recommend using the Reese Heavy Duty Trunnion Weight Distribution System, # RP66131, it is designed for 1,500 lbs. tongue weight and 15,000 lbs. Gross Towing Weight. You can also add the Draw-Tite Dual Cam High Performance Sway Control, # RP26002, to give you the pro-active sway control.
This is the same system as the Reese High Performance Trunnion Weight Distribution System, # RP66022, you have referenced, but it has a higher tongue weight and towing weight.
Because your trailer has a 13,000 gross vehicle weight you will want to have a weight distribution system that will be capable of handling that trailer and the extra weight you will be putting in the truck bed.
The weight distribution system, # RP66022, you have referenced is rated at 1,200 lbs. tongue weight and 12,000 lbs. Gross Towing Weight, which will be too low for the system to work correctly.
The weight distribution system will transfer the tongue weight to the tow vehicles axles and the trailer axles to level out the rear of the vehicle.
You will also need the Reese Titan Weight Distributing Shank, # RP54977, which will fit in your 2-1/2 inch hitch, and the Tow Ready 2-5/16 inch Hitch Ball, # 63836.
