Can Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System be Used in Place of Torsion Axles on Travel Trailer
Published 11/19/2015 >
Question:
I have a Trail Cruiser 27foot dual axle Travel Trailer with shot torsion axles wearing out my tires. Do you think these axles would work for my situation? I have over 30,000 miles on the trailer with two 2500# factory axles and a listed 4100# empty weight and a gross of 5100#. I plan to replace with 3500# axles. Thank You

Yes, you could use the Timbren Axle-Less system # A35RD545 in place of straight axles on your travel trailer. This system basically works similarly to torsion axles with the suspension built in.
Since this system is rated for 3,500 pounds though you would likely notice a stiffer ride since the trailer will not weigh enough to compress the suspension the way it does with the two 2,500 pound axles. I have included a link to all of the Timbren systems we carry.
The system you referenced comes with hubs that have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If you have a different bolt pattern let me know and I can make other recommendations.
