If your vehicle's plug was factory installed, I would start by checking to see if you have a blown tow package tail light fuse. I've attached an image from your owners manual highlighting the position 3 location to check the 15 AMP fuse for your convenience.
If all is well in the fuse box, then I recommend looking under the vehicle to see if the wires have been damaged or pinched thus compromising the integrity of the wire.
If you cannot find a solution or the problem after following these steps, let me know what you come up with and we can do further troubleshooting.

Hi Jackie. I have a similar problem and have determined the wire to the running lights on my 4 pin connector ( brown wire) has been damaged and has no power. Can I pull a new wire from the 15 amp fuse located in the engine compartment (position 3 on your diagram) ?
