Question:
Hi, Could you give me the measurement for the Front Rail from the BACK OF THE CAB, on a 2015 Chevrolet extended cab 2500 4x4 with a short box. Thank You

Expert Reply:
Demco does not provide measurements for rail placement for installation kit # DM8552011-71 for your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 but what they do say is that the hitch can be centered over the center of the rear axle up to 3 inches forward.
On a short bed truck you will want it as far back as you can so centered over the axle is a good place for the hitch. Now, from the center of the hitch forward on the truck to the front of the rail will be approximately 14 inches. So you would measure from the axle centerline FORWARD 14 inches. That is approximately where the front of the forward rail will be once installed.
Demco offers an 18K HiJacker, # DM8550034 and a 21K HiJacker, # DM8550035, both of which have the auto sliding feature and will fit the above bed rails listed above.
