Excellent question, and there is anti-corrosion protection for the aluminum bed of your 2018 Ford F-150 that comes with the B&W base rails and install kit that fits your truck, though it is not in the form of shims. What the kit comes with is a roll of polypropylene tape that is used for the parts of the kit that touch the bed. The correct fit for your '18 F-150 is the following:

I have added a cut out from the linked installation instructions which details this step of the install on your truck. The polypropylene tape is a simple step so it won't take much additional time, but will act perfectly as a buffer between your F-150's aluminum bed and the steel parts of the kit.
