On a brake controller wiring harness for your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, the end that plugs into the truck has a tab on one of the longer sides. This tab fits in a mating tab on the truck's connector. When installed, the tabs lock. On the brake controller end you can push down behind where the tab is and pull the connectors apart at the same time.
It is possible that the tabs could be "seized" and you would need a small, flat blade screwdriver to apply some gentle prying force.
