Where is the 97inch measured from, and what is the top mounting arc dimensions ?

I spoke to my contact at Surco and she informed me that from the very top to the very bottom the Surco Ladder part # SP501L measures 97 inches.
The distance from the portion that attaches to the roof of the RV to the ladder is 17 inches.
