Question:
Please help find a hub for 1 3/8inch inner bearing that has a 7/8inch outer bearing. Lost the whole wheel assembly on the way home of a just purchased older jet boat trailer... Brand new wheels and tires, no cotter pins?!! Other wheel was still on, got measurements from that side. Outer bearing is TM16429 Japan, Timken? Hub bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5. Searching the web and this site yielded no results. Is it possible to purchase a hub with correct bolt pattern and inner bearing yet change outer bearing and race to 7/8inch to fit spindle? Update, ing the 7/8inch bearing into 545 hub, left @ 1/4inch of lateral movement when attached to spindle....please help

If you are getting a 1/4 inch of movement in and out then something is not correct on that hub. Whether it be a bearing, race, the hub itself, something is not right because there should be no where near that much movement in a hub.
I think the best solution is to measure the spindle using digital calipers such as # PTW80157. Calipers are needed because the measurements have to be as accurate as possible. I have included a picture that points out where to measure.
Based on your initial measurements though it doesn't seem likely that we will have a hub that will fit. This may be a situation where the best and easiest solution is to replace the axle. We have some axles, see link, but if none match the measurements needed then you could order one to your specifications fro ma local trailer supply store.
