Hello I am have a problem figuring out how to wire a new L.E.D third brake light / cargo light on my chevy extended cab truck it is a 1991 is there a conversation kit are some thing the ends of the wires are different on the new light than the factory cargo light the truck didnt come factory with a third brake light only a cargo light I need help on how to wire this up I has research on line but cant find anything any if and one can help me out

Since you did not have a third brake light on your 1991 truck you will need to hard wire the new light. You have combined wiring on your truck so you will have to run the wiring for the brake light on your new assembly to one of two specific spots, either the brake light switch that is located at the top of your brake pedal, or find the fuse that is dedicated for the brakes only. You can use a fuse tap like part # F2526 for this.

As far as connecting the wires for the cargo light, you will need to do one of two things. You will either have to cut off the connector the new light and the truck side and hardwire the correct wires together(which I recommend doing) or you will want to cut off the plug on the new light and also the old cargo light you are replacing and wire the new light with the old connector, to plug into the truck connector.

To check the wires and make sure you find the right ones I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993.
