Turns Per Inch of Travel For Bulldog Square Jack
Updated 09/10/2015 | Published 09/09/2015 >
Question:
Hi! I supplied these jacks in an OEM capacity, and my customer is complaining that the effort is too high. Do you know what the turns per inch of travel is for these jacks? Id like to find one with a higher ratio.

I spoke with my contact at Bulldog about the turns per inch of the Bulldog Square Jack # BD182500 that you referenced. He told me that the Bulldog single speed jacks have 9 turns per inch of travel. Bulldog manufactures all of the 10,000 pound landing gear jacks we offer.
Bulldog offers the Bulldog Powered-Drive Kit for Single-Speed Jacks w. 12,000 Pound Capacity # BD1824200100. This powered drive will operate Bulldog single-speed jacks with a 12,000 pounds static capacity, like # BD182500. There is a 7,500 pound lift capacity on the powered drive and the motor power is 12 volt DC.
Another option that may work for you is a 2 speed jack, like the Bulldog 2-Speed Jack - Drop Leg w/ Spring Return # BD183816. This jack has a 12-1/2 inch left and a 10,000 pound capacity. The bracket height measures 29-1/2 inches when retracted and 42 inches when extended. In low gear, the jack operates at 27 turns per 1 inch of travel, and in high gear it operates at 9 turns per 1 inch.
