Why Would a Powered Trailer Jack Only Work When Connected to Tow Vehicle

Question:

the power jack works on the truck power or main power out of the outlet. will not work on the battery power. the light will not go on either. battery tests good, fuse is good. any sugestions? all breakers are on in the camper, no other blown fuses

The Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack # JET-3555 grounds through the mounting bracket of the jack. If your trailer isn't hooked up to your tow vehicle when you are trying to use the jack the problem would be that it isn't grounding properly. If you run the ground of your trailer battery to the trailer frame it should work.
