To help installation of the Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV go smoothly, you will want a 4-way connector, the universal wiring adapter for Curt brake controllers # C51515, and the universal installation kit # ETBC7.

If you do not already have a 4-way connector on your pickup, you will want to begin by installing one. I recommend the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118315. This wiring harness plugs directly in your vehicle's pre-existing wiring with no cutting or splicing of the truck's wires.

You will also need the universal installation kit # ETBC7. This kit comes with the wire you will need to run from your 4- and 7-way connector to the battery and brake controller. Also included in the kit are butt connectors, circuit breakers, and ring terminals.

The Curt Universal Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers # C51515 will allow you to connect the wires from the under the dash of your pickup to the brake controller. This adapter will be connected to these wires under the dash with butt connectors at one end and plug into the brake controller at the other end.

Since you have a long bed I also recommend getting some extra wire as part # 10-2-1. The universal installation kit comes with 25' of 10 gauge duplex wire, but the additional 10' would ensure that you will be able to reach from the rear of the pickup up to the battery.

We have installed this brake controller on a 1994 Chevrolet C/K Pickup and we found that it made installation easier to use a battery side bolt extender # DW05416. I have attached this installation video for you.
