Question:
Hi, I have an 06 mustang v6. I am moving from California to New Jersey in August and am trying to figure the best hitch, preferably hidden, to do the job. My world fits in a 5x5foot trailer. Which hitch is best and what all do I need to do this safely? I plan on renting a small contained trailer for the trip.

For your 2006 Ford Mustang V6 I recommend the Curt trailer hitch # C11312, it is the only hitch available for the 06 Mustang. You will also need a ball mount like the Draw Tite # 3592 and a pin and clip # F-4.
In addition to the hitch, ball mount, and pin/clip you will need a properly sized ball for the coupler on the rental trailer. It will either take a 1-7/8 inch ball, # 19256, or a 2 inch ball, # 19258. The rental company should be able to tell you which you will need.
And last you will need a wiring harness installed on the Mustang. You can use # 8252. I have linked a video showing an example installation of this wiring harness for you. I have also linked a video showing how the hitch installs.
And I have included links to our help articles on items needed to tow and another with tips on towing a trailer for you!
