Could a Smaller Wheel and Tire be Installed on a Trailer for Storage Height Clearance

Updated 05/13/2015 | Published 05/12/2015

Question:

I currently have ST205/75D-15 wheels on my tandem enclosed trailer ... Due to height restrictions on my patio/driveway cover, I would like to temporarily put 8inch wheels on just for moving trailer unloaded in and out of cover ... Would any of the 8inch Kendra wheels work ? ... Wheel bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5 inches Tks,

A rim like the part # AM3H325 could potentially work for you if you don't have brake assemblies on your axles. This would be just as wide as your current setup but would be almost 9 inches shorter. This rim has the same bolt pattern as your current wheels as well and the weight capacity is 1,165 at 70 psi which is most likely much lower than you current setup so you would need to be aware of that as well.
