Anything, including the most protective trunk mount carriers, have the potential to mar or scratch vehicle paint. The way to limit this from happening is to make sure the bike carrier and the vehicle are clean where they come into contact with each other. A coat of wax on the vehicle will offer even more protection.

Another option that will keep the bikes off of your leased 2015 Fiat 500E is to install a trailer hitch and use a hitch mount bike carrier. this is the safest way to carry bikes on a vehicle. for a trailer hitch you can use # C11363. We have had at least 1 customer use this hitch on a 2015 500E for bikes only and he said that it fits perfectly.

On this hitch you will be able to carry up to 2 bikes on a Class I compatible bike carrier. I recommend the Swagman Trailhead, # S63360, because it is a great compatible carrier and the rise in the shank will provide better ground clearance. If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
