Question:
Can the CAM55301 be plugged into an extension cord and not directly into the pedestal? I would like to keep the unit inside my camper so its not stolen.

Expert Reply:
The Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Monitor # CAM55301 can be used with an extension cord such as Camco's # CAM55191 Power Grip RV Extension Cord which is rated for 30-amps like the Power Defender. I confirmed this with Camco's technical group. Review videos for both referenced products are linked for you.
However, Camco does not officially recommend using the Power Defender inside the trailer for safety reasons.
