need to know if it is really nessasary to add a adapter pkg for just a 14 foot fishing boat trailer tailights.. thanks

By law your trailer has to have functioning lights. It would not be a problem if you were moving the boat and trailer around on your own property but out on the road you have to have lights.
To add a 4-Way trailer connector to your 2015 GMC Acadia you can use # 119250KIT.
