Ref Brophy RV Scissor Steps - 4 Steps . Will the steps collapse if not fully extended?

I called my contact at Brophy about the RV Scissor Steps, part # AS24.
They told me if you have between 31 and 39 inches of distance from the mounting bracket to the ground, the steps will work well for you. I have attached a photo of the steps with the dimension noted you can check out.
