I believe you are looking for an electronic brake controller to tow a trailer with electric-over-hydraulic brakes with your 2005 Chevy Silverado. If this is the case, then I recommend taking a look at the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, # 90195. The Prodigy brake controllers have been around for a long time due to their reliability and effectiveness. The P3 is the newest model that comes with many features like memory settings, diagnostic alerts, customizable display and many more. I have attached a review video and an installation video of this brake controller on a 2005 Chevy Silverado for you to check out.
If you go with the P3 or any other Tekonsha brake controller, then you will also want the Plug-In Wiring Adapter, # 3015-P. This will allow the brake controller to plug into the factory tow package of your truck. This adapter is shown in the installation video I have attached.
Brake controllers are pretty universal, so I attached a link to all of our brake controllers that are compatible with electric-over-hydraulic braking systems for you to check out. None of these brake controllers will require an adapter like part # T4845900 that you referenced. This adapter is primarily used for specific OEM brake controllers that are not compatible with electric-over-hydraulic systems.
