Wiring Diagram For EOH Actuator Adapter

Updated 03/30/2026 | Published 12/07/2025

Question:

Earlier in the year, I purchased from you the DX electric over hydraulic breaking system. I’ve been having an issue with false warnings on my dash in regards to the brake cable disconnect. I got in touch with DMX and they told me that I needed this resistor and each time I asked them for a wiring diagram on where to wire this and they come back with the wiring diagram, which is just for wiring up the brakes actuator. Do you have the information

Hey David, thanks for reaching out. The adapter module you mentioned simply installs inline with the actuator. I do have a diagram you should find helpful. I was not able to find anything specific to the Hydrapro adapter, but I do have a diagram showing how to wire the Dexter brand adapter which is essentially the same thing and install the same way. Take a look at the picture I included.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there is anything else you need!

Hi Jesse I think I’m writing on my emails to the same email address. I did not realize that you were part of the E-trailer. And I actually thought that I was replying on my emails too DeeMaxx. So I’ll let you read your emails and then maybe you can help me.

Hi Jesse I just left an email mentioning about my break disconnect warning on the dashboard. And I went to the website and I saw here this might’ve been the place to post my reply. Have to almost 10 months of dealing with this problem of the disconnect, showing up on my dashboard and purchasing a resistor that evidently I didn’t need. I have come to the conclusion that the ground wire that goes from the junction box to the side of the gooseneck and is bolted underneath the disconnect switch for some apparent reason has been giving a problem because I’ve taken that away from the connection on the gooseneck and the brakes are working fine. I don’t get the ticking of the actuator and the disconnect works, and I don’t get the warning on the dashboard that there’s been a disconnect. It seems like for some apparent reason having a ground going to that gooseneck comes back to my truck and that’s me only guessing.

@DavidB Hey David, I appreciate you following up with all that detail, that really helps paint the full picture. What you’re describing actually makes sense. That ground tied into the gooseneck can definitely create a feedback path back to the truck, which can confuse the system and trigger that disconnect warning. When you removed it and everything started behaving normally, that’s a pretty strong indicator that was the issue. You should be good to leave it as you have it now as long as the breakaway is still functioning properly when tested. Sounds like you’ve got it sorted out, but definitely appreciate you sharing this, that’s a good real-world fix that can help someone else down the road.

@JesseM Not sure if I mentioned the resistor that I purchased I have left disconnected where I mounted it. So yes, hopefully this is something that future customers can also check and thanks again.
