Question:
Ive been looking at adding a receiver to my 2013 287bhbe travel trailer for a 4 place bike rack. As of right now, Im down to this Curt adjustable up to 71, the hidden hitch #82201, or having a custom setup made for me. Based on my research, the Curt receiver attaches best to an I-beam setup which is preferred. However, Im reading that support straps are required when using anything other than a trailer. How would I connect support straps to the back of my flat camper? My camper bumper is the same height as my frame so a mount that is attached to the bottom of the I-beam under the camper and then U-bolted to the frame extensions connected to my bumper is an option for a custom. This would allow me to ensure my receiver is high enough and long enough on the frame to be support the bounce normally noticed that the Curt receiver warranty mentions. Any suggestions?

I have attached a link to the frame-mount hitches we offer for motorhomes and RVs.
I recommend the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13703. You will need to measure the outside to outside distance from one frame member to the other. The # 13703 will work if this distance is between 22 and 72 inches. This hitch has a weight rating of 350 lbs. You will want to make sure you do not exceed the weight capacity of the frame on your motorhome. If you do not know the capacity, you can contact your motorhome dealer and with the VIN they should be able to tell you what the capacity is.
Since this is a universal installation, the installer will want to make sure to select a structurally safe location when installing. This hitch can be installed on the I-beams like the Curt hitch you referenced.
You said you wanted to use the hitch for a bike rack. Bike racks that are designed for the back of a motorhome are built stronger than those designed to fit passenger vehicles. I have attached a link to some of the bike racks designed for motorhomes you can take a look at.
The Curt Hitch, part # 13703 you referenced does state that stabilizing straps like part # 18050 must be used. Since many motorhomes are constructed like yours with nowhere to attach the straps easily I do not recommend this hitch.
