Question:

I recently purchased a 2015 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab without a trailering package. I want to set the vehicle up to tow a small trailer. Which wiring harness is needed to make the truck towing capable? I did not see a factory installed 7 pin connector under the truck. Thank you

I contacted Curt Manufacturing and even though your 2015 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab doesn't have a tow package, the wiring connection point will be up under the bumper area, near the spare tire. You will use the Curt custom fit wiring # C56515. This will give you the 5-way flat trailer connector to power your trailer's signal lights. If it's a 4-way connector then use Hopkins wiring kit # 41155.

A mounting bracket, like # 18144, is something to consider because the bracket attaches to the bottom of your bumper.

A trailer hitch I recommend is the Class III Curt hitch # C13176 which has a towing capacity of 8,000 pounds and maximum tongue weight of 800 pounds.

A ball mount kit like # 989900 will include 2 ball mounts with different rise and drops, 2 different hitch balls, pin and clip and a storage bag.
