Installed The Hopkins 41144 Wiring Harness On My 22' Colorado, 7 Way Plug Is Not Working, Any Ideas?

Question:

I installed the Hopkins 41144 wiring harness to my 2022 Chevy Colorado. When testing it, the 4 way works correctly left/right/running lights but for the 7 way only the auxiliary power is working. Looking for ideas to troubleshoot this particular scenario.

Hey Mike,

Sometimes with those 7 and 4 way trailer connectors, if you are testing the 4 flat and 7 way and don't unplug, or remove the tester from the 4 way it will cause the 7 way plug to show as not working. Most adapters do not let the 2 functions to be used at the same time. That may be the simple issue just testing one at a time.

If that is not the case and you are testing them 1 at a time you may have a defective 7 way plug on that Hopkins unit. If the wires coming from the vehicle were tested and all working, and you installed the Hopkins harness and are not getting any functions it sounds like a defective unit.

If you determine that it is a defective unit, and you bought it from us, give our customer service team and call and they can handle getting you setup with a new one!

Hey Mike, Did testing the connectors one at a time help resolve the issue with your 7-way plug? I'm asking to see if this solution could assist others facing similar troubleshooting challenges.
