Question:

Im looking at buying a 2013 Ford Escape or a 2013 Toyota RAV4. I currently have a 2008 Ford Escape that I transport my standup paddle boards on. My concern is the clearance of the antenna in the rear center of the roof on both the 13 Escape and RAV4. The 08 antenna is not an issue since its on the front right side. Is there a certain rack / carrier that would get around this issue? Thanks

When it comes to a stand-up paddle board carrier that will clear the antenna on a 2013 Ford Escape or a 2013 Toyota RAV4, I recommend taking a look at the Thule SUPDawg, part # Y04075.

We installed this carrier on a Toyota 4Runner and as you can see in the attached picture, there is quite a bit of room between the roof and the paddle board so you shouldn't have any problem with antenna clearance.
