Enclosed Cargo Carrier Recommendation for Access to Rear Cargo Area for Scooter Loading

Question:

Several ?s, When not in use how heavy is the Yakima swing away to take off and the best way to store? We have a Pride scooter Sport 4 wheel that i load in myself. is there room to do it with the Yakima Exo swing away feature? If i get a inside lift for the Jeeo Grand Cherokee can the rolla Swing Arm have clearance for the lift? when it is down? Thanks,

The Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches - 10 cu ft - 100 lbs # Y62VR that you referenced weighs 97 lbs. Storing it in a clean corner of your garage would be your best option.

If you are looking for a carrier to give you enough clearance to load and unload your scooter into the rear cargo area of your vehicle the Yakima EXO would be your best option for sure, as it would swing out and away to give you enough room to lift and load your scooter into the vehicle.

It would be hard to say for certain if the Yakima would clear a lift attached to the rear of a vehicle, but since you said it is an inside lift, there is a chance that it would. Maybe the attached video will give you a better idea if it would work with your system or not.
