Is it waterproof? So when I back the boat in the water and it might go under water.

Expert Reply:
For something to be considered waterproof it has to be able to be submerged under water for a certain amount of time and not let any water in. Based on that the Optronics adapter # A57WB is not technically waterproof. But at the same time you should unplug the trailer from the tow vehicle prior to submerging the trailer in the water so as to eliminate any chance of a short caused by water.
Using dielectric grease, # 11755, on the trailer connectors/adapter will repel moisture and would lessen the chance of damage caused by water.
