Can a 13 inch Trailer Wheel be Upgraded to a 14 inch Trailer Wheel for Additional Ground Clearance

Published 01/16/2015

Question:

Have a Coachmen Clipper 17fq, want to increase the hight a little. Can you change tires and rims from 13 inch to 14inch? If so what size would it be? If not any other option? Also what type rim can i replace it with? Looking at mag rims

If you went from a 13-inch rim and tire to a 14-inch rim and tire you would gain about an inch of height for the trailer. You will need to make sure you have room in the fender wells of the trailer for an additional inch. You will also need to know what wheel bolt pattern your trailer rims have. I attached an FAQ article on how to determine this.

Hopefully it has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern since that is the only bolt pattern, we offer for 14-inch trailer wheels. If that's what you have you could use the part # LH84VR.
