Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

  • Will etrailer Hitch Fit 2022 Kia Sportage SX Turbo
Hey Mike! Yes, the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e72TR is a good fit for your 2022 Kia Sportage. This fits all models, including the SX Turbo. What do you plan on using the hitch for?

  • Comparing Curt and etrailer Class III Trailer Hitches for a 2017 Kia Sportage
If you will be using the trailer hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier than I recommend the etrailer hitch # e72TR because it does not have the stabilization strap requirement for non-trailer loads like the Curt, # C13281. It also costs less. In fact, even if you were towing I would still recommend the etrailer hitch because it is at a better price point. While the designs of these 2 hitches are a little different how and where they install is about the same. I have...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2020 Kia Sportage
Michael, for your 2020 Kia Sportage I'd recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e72TR. This hitch has a 3,500 lbs weight capacity, a 2" receiver so it'll be compatible with just about any hitch accessory, and is made in the USA.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Kia Sportage
For your 2019 Kia Sportage there are two hitch sizes available, 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch. Whenever available I recommend going with a 2 inch hitch since it will be stronger and more accessories are designed to fit that size. So the 2 inch hitch I would recommend for your 2019 Sportage would be the etrailer hitch part # e72TR because it has the best capacities, is the least visible, and unlike the Curt # C13281 it does not require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported...

  • Difference Between Curt and etrailer Class III Trailer Hitches for 2022 Kia Sportage
There are a few small differences between the etrailer # e72TR and the Curt # C13281 Class III hitches, both of which are confirmed fits for a 2022 Kia Sportage. Both hitches would install in a similar manner, and the installation shares the same level of difficulty. The etrailer has a higher capacity at 4500 lbs towing/675 lbs tongue weight while the Curt has a 3500 lb towing/525 lb tongue weight capacity. However, the capacity advantage isn't really relevant because the capacity will...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2020 Kia Sportage
The trailer hitch I recommend for a 2020 Kia Sportage is the etrailer Hitch part # e72TR. The etrailer Hitch offers a complete bolt-on installation with no cutting/drilling or special tools involved therefore no permanent modifications are required. This is certainly something you can install at home, in your driveway without much effort as it only takes most on average around forty minutes or so. This Hitch has a concealed cross tube so the only part that is visible will be the receiver...

  • Troubleshooting Bolts Not Threading On etrailer Hitch For 2018 Kia Sportage EX
Sorry to hear that your bolts won't thread for your # e72TR installation. What you can do is use a M10 x 1.25 thread tap. The holes aren't always perfect but this will allow you to get the bolts that came with the hitch installed. I would not try to use a smaller bolt since it may not fit right, or at all, and you want your hitch to be secure. You may want to give cleaning another try before you go this route. I have attached a helpful article with a video that outlines this process using...

  • Round Trailer Plug Connector For Installation on a 2022 Kia Sportage
With your trailer having a round plug instead of a flat plug you will need either one of a couple parts. If you do not already have a connector on your 2022 Kia Sportage you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118698. This will give you a 4-way flat which you can change to the 4-Way Round # PK11404 connector. Or you can upgrade to a 7-Way # ETBC7 if you have the larger connector. This kit includes the parts needed to also install a Trailer Brake Controller # RED52VR.

  • Choosing Between etrailer e72TR and Curt C13281 Class III Hitches for 2017 Kia Sportage
The # C13281 and # e72TR Class III hitches are the exact same hitch, both are manufactured by Curt. The etrailer brand hitch has a matte powder coated finish, while the powder coat on the Curt hitch has a glossy finish. Some feel that the matte finish is a bit more desirable, as it tends to match the black underside of the bumper cover on the 2017 Sportage better which makes the hitch a little less visually obtrusive, but other than that (and the brand sticker affixed to it) the hitches...

Hitch installation hardware can be used only one time and that is probably why your old hardware was not returned to you. We do offer replacement hitch hardware kit # RHK for each hitch we sell and all of the aftermarket hitches for the 2017 Kia Sportage are shown on the linked page. You'll note that we have both 1-1/4-inch (Class II) and 2-inch (Class III) hitches for the car and you'll want to confirm which type you have so you can select the appropriate hardware kit. • Best Trailer Hitch for a 2020 Kia Sportage SX Turbo
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13281 and etrailer Hitch Receiver part # e72TR are both fits for a 2020 Kia Sportage SX Turbo. They will actually work on all models. The Curt hitch is best for bike racks and cargo carriers and the etrailer hitch is best for towing.

  • Curt or etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch for a 2022 Kia Sportage
I personally like the Curt Hitch # C13281 over the etrailer # e72TR for your 2022 Kia Sportage because the safety chain loops sit out to the side on the Curt but they sit under the receiver for the etrailer which means you'll have less ground clearance. Check out the attached photos to see what I'm talking about. If you don't already have a bike rack then I recommend checking out the RockyMounts WestSlope # RKY10222 which I really like for it's U-Shaped frame because it makes it much easier...

  • Mobility Scooter Carrier Setup for a 2018 Kia Sportage
Prior to loading your 2018 Kia Sportage, you'll want to verify your vehicle's maximum tongue capacity and towing capacity to ensure that your vehicle's engine will be able to handle the weight. The total weight of the scooter, plus carrier, will need to be less than this capacity to safely transport the scooter. With your Class III hitch, part # e72TR you can use larger, ramped carriers to make loading and unloading the scooter easier. I've attached our install video of this hitch so...

  • Will Anti-Rattle Lock Work With 2 Inch Hitch on 2018 Kia Sportage?
The SportRack Hitch and Cable Lock # A32022 would absolutely work with the 2 inch etrailer # e72TR that you are getting for your 2018 Kia Sportage. It is compatible with the Curt Bike Rack # C18085 that you have as well so you would be good to go.

  • Best Hitch and Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for 2017 Kia Sportage
For a hitch the best option is a 2 inch hitch like the part # e72TR which is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Kia Sportage. I attached an install video for this as well. I would recommend the Saris Freedom Superclamp part # SA4025F. It's a platform style bike rack that will fit your 2 inch hitch, it's super lightweight for a platform rack at 35 lbs, and it will only contact your bikes by grabbing them at the tires.

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2017 Kia Sportage to Carry Wheelchair Lift and Motorized Wheelchair
According to the owner's manual for the 2017 Kia Sportage the vehicle itself has a tongue weight capacity of 220 pounds. Since the combined weight of the lift and chair is 182 pounds it is within the capabilities of the vehicle! For a trailer hitch if your Sportage is an EX or LX model I recommend etrailer hitch # e72TR but if you have an SX model the only option is Curt hitch # C13281. Per Curt warranty requirements, all non-trailer loads (bike racks, cargo carriers, etc) must be supported...

  • Comparing Curt and etrailer Hitches for 2018 Kia Sportage
For your 2018 Kia Sportage the etrailer hitch part # e72TR and the Curt hitch part # C13281 are pretty similar but have some distinct differences. The Draw Tite is what I'd recommend for two reasons. If you plan to carry a bike rack or a cargo carrier the etrailer doesn't require you to use a stabilizer strap like the part # 18050 which the Curt does. Both hitches will be mostly concealed as they crosstube isn't visible and have great towing capacities. I attached a picture that points...

  • Does etrailer Hitch and Curt Trailer Hitch Fit 2020 Kia Sportage
Yes they have! Both hitches you asked about, the etrailer Hitch Receiver # e72TR as well as the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13281 have been confirmed to fit a 2020 Kia Sportage. Between the two I highly recommend the etrailer because it has the highest capacities at 3,500 lbs towing and 525 lbs tongue weight, which speaks to it's strength and durability, and because it is the only hitch rated for use with a weight distribution system, which is something people use regularly when towing....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2021 Kia Sportage LX
When installing the etrailer Hitch Receiver # e72TR on your 2021 Kia Sportage LX you will not need to trim any of the underbody panels. You will just need to remove one underbody panel on the driver side and not re install it. The Curt # C13281 you were looking at allows you to re install that underbody trim panel so I recommend going with that hitch instead. If you are planning on towing with your Sportage you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # 118698 which will plug into the...

Yes, we do have a trailer hitch for your 2020 Kia Sportage. It is the etrailer Hitch Receiver item # e72TR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Kia with included hardware. I have linked an installation video below. You are going to need two separate wiring harnesses to add a 7-way connector to your vehicle that will allow you to control your trailer's brakes. The etrailer hitch part # e72TR is the correct hitch for the 2017 Kia Sportage. We did install this hitch on a 2018 Kia Sportage SX GDI so it's confirmed to fit your Sportage. I recommend Tekonsha part # 118698 for trailer wiring. The Tekonsha wiring harness is a t-connector that plugs in behind the driver's side and passenger's-side tail lights. It does not require splicing but does require a power wire that connects to the battery. The power wire powers the Modulite converter that is...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch And Bike Rack For Heavy E-Bikes On A 2020 Kia Sportage
Yes, you can certainly carry two E-bikes on the back of your 2020 Kia Sportage. I recommend installing the etrailer class 3 hitch # e89YR. This hitch has a 525 lb tongue weight capacity so more than enough for 2 heavy bikes and a bike rack. The hitch has a durable matte black powder coat, however it will be mostly hidden behind the bumper. If you are in the market for a bike rack also, I recommend the Kuat NV 2.0 # BA22B. This is made for heavier bikes and can carry 2 bikes weighing...

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Fit a 2017 Kia Sportage?
I have a solution for you but the 2017 Kia Sportage is not trunk mounted bike rack compatible. There is something with the way the vehicle trunk is made. Even though the Yakima FullBack # Y02633 is said to be a fit, we just don't recommend it. My contacts at our bike rack companies said they don't recommend using any trunk mounted rack. Instead, they recommend a hitch mounted alternative. If you don't have a trailer hitch on your Sportage, then I recommend starting with the etrailer...
