Michael, for your 2020 Kia Sportage I'd recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e72TR. This hitch has a 3,500 lbs weight capacity, a 2" receiver so it'll be compatible with just about any hitch accessory, and is made in the USA.

Hello again, so my 2020 Sportage lx tow capacity is 2000lbs with trailer brakes. Ill have 3 passengers with a combined weight of 600lbs, thats NOT including camping gear, clothes and blankets. With that being said, is it worth it to get a hitch and if so, what weight should i be looking for in a tent trailer? Im confused and new to having a hitch. Do I go by the dry weight or the GWV? I need some serious advice on what weight tent trailer I should be getting?

@MichaelP Well you're going to need a hitch no matter what because you can't haul a trailer without one. So yes, it is definitely worth it. As far as picking out the right tent trailer I'd recommend looking for something that has a GWVR that is less than the hitches capacity. So if the hitch can handle let's say 10,000 lbs, I'd look for a trailer under 10K lbs. The reason you don't want to go by the dry weight is because that weight is taken without any liquids or anything added. So if you have a fresh water tank, a septic tank, etc that all wouldn't be factored in, which could be the difference of being overloaded or not - so stick with the GVWR.
