Whatever the job, the Duralux can handle it by delivering more light output with less power consumption than a typical 100-watt halogen light, maximizing work time while minimizing downtime. This 30-watt LED work light uses precision optics to shoot out a wide 60-degree beam that floods a large area with bright white light. In addition to delivering maximum usable light and stellar efficiency, this light also gives you the same look you've come to expect from similar, industry-standard halogen and HID commercial or industrial fleet lights. So you won't have to sacrifice the look that you want to get the visibility that you need.
The beam pattern of this light is great for seeing out in front of you as well as off to both sides, making it an excellent work light. It is ideal for commercial and industrial applications where being able to see what's ahead of you is important but being able to see in your periphery is vital.
Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LED is capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diode is capable of producing. This Duralux has a 3,168 raw lumen capacity and produces 2,220 effective lumens for ultra-bright light.
Lux - or the amount of light per square meter - is a measurement of a light's intensity. One lux is the minimum amount of light that is needed for an average person to read a newspaper.
The above lux chart shows just how far and wide the Duralux's beam extends. The Duralux produces a light so bright and efficient that the beam measures 1 lux at 229' (70 meters). At that distance, the beam also measures 94' (29 meters) wide. To compare, a typical motorcycle headlight low beam measures 1 lux at 75' (23 meters), and a high beam measures 1 lux at 153' (47 meters).
This LED light delivers maximum efficiency at all times and always activates immediately, giving you steady, powerful, and reliable light every time you hit the switch. You'll see the difference the first time you fire this light up. Unlike HID lights, this light doesn't need to warm up to achieve its full brightness. And unlike halogen lights, the Duralux doesn't require that you change out the bulb due to a blown filament.
Not all LEDs are created equal. Vision X uses only top-grade LEDs to ensure that their lights deliver maximum efficiency. Lower-grade LEDs, which make up a large portion of the market, produce more heat at the same wattage and have a much shorter life span.
Although LED lights typically produce far less heat than halogen or HID lights, heat is still the biggest enemy of an LED. Because of this, many LED lights on the market are only driven to 60 percent of their potential to avoid overheating, electrical spikes, and premature failure. Vision X controls and combats heat with electronic thermal management (ETM). This allows the lights to be driven to 90 percent of their potential.
The ETM system monitors each LED's heat level to keep the light operating at a safe temperature, which maximizes its efficiency and life span. If the ETM senses that the LEDs are getting too hot, it dials back the current, lowering the light's output while still keeping the LEDs fully functional and protected against burnout.
This Vision X light is also built with an advanced heat sink to help dissipate heat. The heat sink has a channeled design that allows for convection-style cooling. The channels create a non-mechanical fan - outside air is sucked into the heat sink at one end and flows out of the other end, taking hot air produced by the light with it.
Vision X lights are incredibly durable, yet still lightweight. And they are thoroughly tested and protected against voltage spikes; damage from water, shock, or particulates; and interference with radio reception and vehicle wiring.
The Duralux has a rustproof, black powder coated aluminum housing and a tough, impact-resistant polycarbonate lens with a scratch-resistant coating for maximum strength and durability.
The 304 stainless steel mounting hardware resists vibration to keep the light firmly in place, and it won't rust or corrode.
And the included 2-wire harness has a triple-sealed, industry-standard Deutsch connector.

Today we're going to review part number DURA-660. This is the Vision X Duralux 30-Watt LED Flood Light. Has a 60-degree beam. Now this part number comes with everything shown here. The light with the bracket. Comes with a stainless steel bolt to mount the bracket to wherever you need it mounted. Comes with an Allen wrench which you can use on each side.
There's a bolt with an Allen head that you can tighten it down when you want to adjust this and it comes with the deutsch connector to do your connection to your wiring. Now basically this is an LED work light that will produce some bright flood beam. Has an extra wide 60-degree flood beam which is ideal for industrial, commercial and fleet applications. Gives you superior light output from the 6 5-watt LEDs which gets you your 30-watt output. You do get maximum efficiency with minimal heat with this light. Basically those premium LEDs have 50,000-hour life span and they're driven to 90% of light emitting potential.
It does use an electronic thermal management ETM technology and this allows for your highest potential light output at all times. From the very back of the light it does have the channeled fins on the housing which will let the heat quickly dissipate. It's a durable, whether-resistant construction. The rugged black powder coated aluminum housing. It's very light-weight and rust-proof. The bolt I mentioned is a high-tensile stainless steel bolt which will withstand vibrations.
Has an impact-resistant polycarbonate lens which also has a scratch-resistant coating. It is a very easy installation with all these included components. Basically you use this single bolt. Uses this pedestal style bracket that you mount to wherever you need. Provides a sturdy mounting base and once it's mounted you can see that it will let you adjust the angle of the light.
Now the wiring harness that's included has the industry standard triple seal deutsch connector. I'm going to show you that in a minute here. Now the specks of this. The part number is a quantity of one light. Again, has the 6 diodes which is 30 watts as the wattage. The power draw is 2.5 amps. The input voltage is 11 volts to 65 volts DC. Does come with an limited lifetime warranty. Now on the light itself the effective lumen is 2,071 lumens. The raw lumen output is 2,958 lumens. Again, the beam on this will go 229 feet in length at about 94 feet wide. Again, it's an extra wide 60-degree flood pattern. Dimensions on this light. Width of it or the length is roughly about 5-3/8 inches, the height is about 4 inches and the depth all the way to the back here is about 2-1/2 inches deep. Now what I want to do is show you a little more about the deutsch connector I mentioned. Basically here's your plug-in on the back of your light. Then what we're going to do . Going to try to zoom in here. Give you an idea. There's your deutsch connector and if you'll notice right here . If you'll see that orange area, that's actually triple seals around there. It's like a rubber. What happens is when you go to plug this in you'll see it's a very snug fit and then when you push it will clip into place and lock in place. Gives you a nice seal to keep any elements from getting into your connection. Then you just use wires to connect to your wiring harness. Now what I also want to do is I'm gong to hook this up. I got a 12-volt power source here. I'm going to show you the light output of it. We're going to hook this up. Give you an idea and we'll turn off the overhead lights. OK, so I got it hooked up to the 12-volt power. I'm going to actually point this down because it is very bright. Now what I'm going to do is go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. Turn on the 12-volt power. You'll it activates the flood light and you can see it's very bright. I don't want to shine it at the camera. Gives you very bright and about a 60-degree beam that comes out of that 30 watts of power. Now I'll go ahead and turn off. Go a head and turn the lights back on. This lighting is amazingly bright and rugged. Great worklight out the back of a work van.
Very nice quality. Easy to mount. I mounted these on a bird hunting trailer for iliuminating the field when setting up decoys. After using them a few times I realize I should have purchased the 30 watt (6 LED) but that's no fault of the light. Overall great product!
