Hi there roof rack owners. Today, we're gonna be taking a look and showing you how to replace your regular caps with the Locking Core Rhino-Rack caps for the Vortex Aero Bars. To replace your end caps, you simply need to remove your old end cap. And they just pull right out of there. They're just a friction fit. So nice and quick and easy to get those old ones off.
Our new ones just slide into place. We do wanna make sure it's in the unlocked position. And it will be unlocked if that is long ways there. You also can see on it, your lock pictures, there's an unlock and a lock picture there at the top. We want those to be in the upright position, so we can easily see those and read those.
And then just slide our cap into place. We can then use our key to lock it into position. And now we can not remove it. So this is a quick and easy upgrade to provide a level of security for your accessories that you've installed onto your Aero Bars. And it's really nice for all those t-track accessories that you're planning on using.
Cause anybody could just take the end cap loose and slide your stuff right out the t-track if you don't have 'em. This way, somebody really has to fight in order to remove them. Less they bust this off here somehow in order to remove it, it's gonna greatly increase the amount of time it takes them to walk away with your gear. Hopefully, alerting somebody of their presence. Or just scaring 'em away because they saw that this is gonna be more work than they want to put into it.
This is a set of four. So you're gonna get one for each side of each of your Aero Bars. We'll go ahead and pull it off of there, so you can take a closer look. So we're gonna unlock it. And slide it on out of there. And here we can see there's the lock mechanism there. And it does just rotate with the key. On the other side, there's the close ups of the positions. So you can see how those are. The word is straight up and down. That's unlocked. And then when the words are upright, when you can read them, that will be locked position there. And you can see it is a friction fit, just like the other one. So even if you don't have it locked, it'll stay in place when you're going down the road. The lock is more there just for security for your t-track accessories. It is gonna be a complete plastic assembly. Even the lock is plastic. But it will still provide a level of security for your system. Also included, you'll get two keys. It's nice to have two keys. That way you can keep one on your key chain and stuff, when you're rolling around. But that way you also have a spare that you can either keep in the vehicle or keep it home. In the event that you do lose a key, you can still have that backup to be able to get your accessories off. And that completes our replacement of the regular end caps with our locking end caps for the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Bars..

The original end caps that came with the Rhino Rack fell out. The replacement end caps fit great but the locks do not lock very well. So, I had to order another set because 2 of the last replacement set fell out on the highway. I will glue in the replacements.

Will replace a lost end cap. Thought Rhino would have a more secure fit to the rack. Plastic is plastic.
Works as they should, and looks great
The bars are perfect for what I needed. Thule doesn't make a roof rack for my 2023 Cadillac XT6 but Rhino. Ordered the pieces separately because I need 65 inch bars instead of the 46 inch bars in the complete kit. My Thule Hulavators interface perfectly with these bars! Through no fault of etrailer, the post office managed to damage the packaging (I know, shocking right?) but etrailer sent me the missing caps the next day. Score one for etrailer.
I am very happy with the purchase of my Rhino Rack crossbar for my Toyota Tacoma. I added it because the Yakima Rack on my 5' bed did not hold my kayak in the position I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of wind noise after reading numerous complaints of whistling at hwy speeds.

Hopefully the plastic lock mechanisms will hold up better than the original metal ones. I ordered these because the metal locks corroded and I had to drill out and destroy them to remove the rack from my car.

One end cap arrived damage from the box end opening during shipping. etrailer fixed it immediately by sending a replacement. Design of the bars is very good and they are easy to install and center. Very happy.
It was great to find a replacement for the end-cap on my Rhino Rack for a good price. Te product was packaged nicely in a new box and delivered on time. Etrailer was a great source for this spare part.
I actually ordered this kit because I needed the key only. Checked online in multiple places and everyone was either out of stock for just the key or this kit. Even Rhinorack was out of stock on the key. Etrailer had it a shipped it promptly.

Product is the exact replacement needed to fit my Aero bars. I only needed one but they're sold as a pack. This is OK as I'll probably need the others at some point. I do wish they locked more securely...

End caps are still working great. However, the locks still not working very well so I duct taped them in place.
