Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Replacement Prop Rod Assembly for the Leer Tri-Fold Tonneau Covers. As you can see, it is for a quantity of two rods. Now, this part here, these will replace the prop rod assembly on your Leer Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover, works on the part number 631404. That tonneau cover, we do sell separate on our website. Basically, the tonneau cover uses one prop rod on each side of the cover, and basically, the prop rod attaches to the underside of your tonneau cover.
And after the tonneau cover is folded up towards the cab, it extends out, snaps to the bed rail, and then holds the cover in the up position to give you full access to your truck bed. And again, it uses two, one on each side to hold up the cover up in place. And the way it connects, I just wanna zoom in and show you here, but on one end, you can see it connects to the normal ball stud. Just clips on there and holds it into place, stays connected. The other end, if you notice, it's the same way, its snapped onto a ball stud, but it has a little lever on it.
And what that lever allows you to do, when you just turn that lever, it will release that clip, which will allow you to release the connection. So when you're ready to put your cover back down, you just take this in, push that lever, release it, snap the prop rod up against, and then let your tonneau cover unfold all the way. But that should do it for the review on the Replacement Prop Rod Assembly for the Leer Tri-Fold Tonneau Covers for a quantity of two.
Even after being on the phone with a sales rep for almost an hour, I still received the wrong part. Apparently Leer only mentions model or part numbers and doesn’t give dimensions for their products. A waste of my time and a waste for Etrailer paying for return shipments. Very disappointed in this type system
