Relatively easy install. you can save yourself some time by taking off the plastic cover and tow hooks in advance of receiving your hitch. Using this to help move a ski boat up a boat ramp driveway at home.
I received my receiver hitch within 2 days of ordering, is the the good news. The bad news, it was missing all the hardware and assembly instructions. I contacted etrailer the following day expressing my concern, and was told it would be approximately 2 weeks for receiving replacements. I asked to speak to supervisor with hope getting my hardware in time for my vacation to mount a bicycle rack, which was also purcased from etrailer a few weeks ago.
She expressed that the manufacturer will need to send the items and it was basically out of e-trailers hands, and she will forward me a tracking number when available. I'm going to purchase all the replacement hardware needed to complete the install, so I can use it on my trip.
Lock washers that came with the kit didn't fit. Came with 4 extra bolts for some reason. I ended up having to buy lock washers to finish the project.

Fits a 2011 ram 3500. Installation instructions says it fits 2012 and up.
Fit perfectly as advertised. Did not need to remove grill or anything else. Just removed tow hooks and installed hitch. Could not be more happy.
Perfect hitch for those needing a rack for extra space. I used a heavy duty vinyl bag to enclose my tools, cords and generator on my 12k mile trip to alaska. The held that 500lbs extremely well across the permafrost damaged Alaskan highway! No twists, no bends and no worries!
Fairly easy to install, much easier with 2 people. Did the job intended of carrying a small motorcycle securely across the country.
I first contacted etrailer and received great customer service. They answered all my questions and gave me a few suggestions base on my needs. I ordered two items from etrailer, Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver (306-X7900) and Winch Mounting Plate (6495). Upon arrival one item was missing and once again contacted etrailer and got it resolved. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. My missing item arrived within a few days.
The hitch received is great. The welds are fantastic and it looks even better on. I ended up spray-painting the bolts before installing to blend in with hooks/truck. Made it easier just to do a small touch up and not worry about the over spray.
Fairly easy to install and is solid! Has been great being able to carry 2 of our 4 Lectric bikes on the front while having the Fifth-Wheel!
Although, I have seen a lot of reviews stating poor packaging and this is the case here too! Almost lost hardware as box was not strong enough to hold the heavy items... etrailer, you guys are amazing and have been the only place to go for any trailer needs.... You need to fix this poor packaging issue.
Great hitch and perfect fit. Attaching the inboard bolts is tricky. You’ll need an articulating ratchet with low profile socket or wrench to hold the nut while you unthread/thread and torque. Other than that, it’s very straight forward. A second set of hands is a big help too. Highly recommended!
The product was great. The bolts needed to be better. It was easy to mess the heads up with a deep impact socket. The original bolts are much better product.
This is a well made and very durable hitch. We bought it to be able carry our canoe on our pickup while also pulling our fifth wheel. It works well. The canoe is carried quite a ways to the front to allow the fifth wheel to move around as needed. We did have some trouble with installation due to irregular dimensions on the truck. Here is where etrailer really shines, they made another one for us adjusted to our goofy specs. I have nothing but good to say about their marvelous customer service. We got the new one on and now we can take our canoe along anywhere. These guys are great.
Just what I needed. The hitch fit perfectly, all parts were there and the installation instructions were very clear.

This was just what I needed. Does what it supposed to do and also looks great on the truck.
Perfect fit. Looks really sharp. Took less than 1 hour to install. Shipping was fast. Under a week.
Fast delivery, good videos, easy installation and good instructions. I watched the video prior to delivery and had the truck ready. Did not need to remove the grill and was able to access everything under the truck. Removal of the lower grill was easy. I installed it myself in 30 mins.
Stout, well designed and well made—all things I value in a product. Perfect fit, too.
Good quality. Uses factory bolt hardware instead of hardware in packaging.
Happy so far haven’t put it on yet. Very heavy duty and packaging was great thank you.

Works great with the bike rack. Looks nice, easy installation. I'm glad I bought it. I would recommend.
Fit nice. I haven't used it to move a trailer yet. I didn't have tow hooks and the factory ones are high so I paid the extra to get the hitch instead.
The product itself is great. One star deducted because 1) the wrong installation manual was provided. Credit to etrailer because once I notified them, they sent me the correct one within 24 hours. 2) A tremendously oversized box was used for shipping. Consequently , the item which is heavy as you would expect shifted during shipping and caused a huge hole in the box. Fortunately, the bolts were bagged and taped well to the item but this does give a slight passibility that the bolts could be lost in shipping.
The front receiver was easy to install and looks great on my Ram 2500. I received the front receiver in a timely manor.

It’s been a year and the hitch still functions and looks as if it were new. Great product for any accessory needs. Does not work well on my vehicle with a bike rack. The bikes sit far too high and block the drivers view. That isn’t necessarily the fault of the hitch. Highly recommend!
