Three-Point Indicator System

A20 Color Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Like some other posts, followed instructions to the letter and hitch would not drop into rails. Loosened all the rails bolts, mounted hitch, and re-torqued everything. Puck mounting brackets were just off square a bit and twisted the rails when first installed. Either square ‘em up or alter instructions so it goes in first time. Installed in a 2022 Silverado 2500 6’10” bed. Loved the plan, set the rails first time in a few minutes (instead of waiting in a shop for four hours while someone else did the boring and cutting and such). Hitch has been in two other trucks with conventional rails and always fit. Coulda been a five star, but I am familiar with Curt and feel sure they will get it right.

Still satisfied, still recommend. Easy to move hitch in truck as one unit when I need more of the bed available, no further adjustments needed.

Great product. Bought a new F250 with puck system and this product adapted my hitch to the puck system. I did have to drop the head of my hitch because the adapter raises it 2.5 inches. Feet on my Curt A16 fit right into the rails on adapter.

Still doing a great job. I have an overhead hoist in my garage so I can remove adapter and hitch as one unit leaving me with a clean bed. unit into pucks in bed and turn four handles and we’re ready to go! Great product.

by: Floyd03/16/2024

Really wanted to give this 5 stars but it appears they didn’t try it with a hitch like mine. The flanges on the cross supports do not allow my hitch to seat down onto the support tubes. Thus the hitch holes will not line up with the tube holes and the pins cannot be inserted. I fixed it by taking a sledge hammer to the ears on my hitch until the holes aligned. I shouldn’t need to do that to something this expensive.

It is a shame that you had to use a sledgehammer to use the rails. I wanted to ask which brand of hitch do you have?

2021 FordF-250 Super Duty

After purchasing a new truck, I needed an adapter for the Chevy puck system without buying the entire 5th wheel hitch, this fit the bill. Heavily built and easy to install. The only thing I would recommend is to use larger cotter pins because the ones that came with assembly would not engage the castle nuts.

by: Brian03/12/2024
2020 GMC Sierra 3500

Assembly and setup was super easy and quick. Seems super stout. I was worried the added 2 1/2 inches of height added by this would require some adjustments to the pin box. However once hooking up my trailer, no adjustments were necessary. Trailer is almost spot on level, and I am still maintaining 6.5-7 inches of bed side clearance to the trailer.

This is definitely a quality part. I've had it a year, easy to swap between my fifth wheel and gooseneck plate. It installs or comes out easily, it fits securely in my 2023 Silverado 3500. I've pull all of the 25000lbs it's rated for without issue. I highly recommend it. It allowed me to use my fifth wheel and gooseneck plate from my old truck that had rails in it.

by: James 03/21/2023

Easy assembly, fit well. Works just like it should. Put the hitch at a good level to level 5th wheel.

Good as the day I installed it

Frist order was wrong. Not a happy camper as I was not able to bring my new fifth wheel home the day of purchase. Talked with Joshua at etrailer, he helped me with a new order, it arrived two days earlier than expected. Assemble was easy. waiting to bring new fifth wheel home. Thanks Joshua

by: Gwen 05/08/2024

Easy to assemble and install. Love that it snaps into the puck system in the truck bed and allows me to remove the entire hitch using an electric hoist, easily.

It has been around a year since my purchase I haven’t had any problems. I’ve only had to remove the hitch once because I needed the full bed of the truck. I was able to assemble it back in the truck just as easy as the first time. The main reason for this purchase was it saved me from having to purchase another hitch and I can remove the hitch and use it in my other truck with standard rails.

by: Jody12/30/2022

Way to go etrailer, my order was received and with in two days my new adapter base for my new truck came in great condition and i installed in less than 15 minutes along with the spider insert I had from my previous purchase it fit like a glove Thank you for a great easy web site with all the info one needs to get the right product your company that has never let me down in my three orders that I’ve made

I reached out to the manufacturer and they said their product page says the height should be around 2.5 inches. It sounds like your bars were installed upside down or backwards.

Directions were easy to follow and had everything hooked up quickly. As mentioned the adapter raised my hitch 2” so I dropped the 5th wheel hitch down a set of holes (2”).

Have not gotten to tow yet but everything went together fairly easy. One major disappointment was the shipping and the packages were dumped in my driveway. Also it was not clear if I should use the spacers on this while installing the A16 hitch. I tried to get them to fit but could not get the pins to fit so I removed the spacers.

Ive been using this fifth wheel set up for about 5 months now and I don't have any complaints. I pull a 2022 Heartland Cyclone 4006 toyhauler fifth wheel. Loaded down its usually weighing between 18 to 20,000 lbs depending on what we are hauling.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

I was unsure on which hitch adapter would work, especially after reading some of the reviews. I asked the experts, and they assured me it work for my 2022 2500 Silverado. When the Adapter showed up, I failed to read the instructions because there were only 4 parts to assemble. The cross supports have to be installed a certain way based on if you have a GM product or a Ford. Of course, I installed them wrong and when I went to install the rails, the holes wouldn't line up. After a quick glance at the instructions, I figured out what I did did wrong and changed the direction I had the originally installed the cross supports. Had I read the instruction initially, it would have taken a solid 5 minutes to install. After all of that, the Reese 5th wheel hitch dropped into place perfectly and we are ready to roll! Thanks again!

by: David 01/13/2024

Works as advertised! For those who do not have a new style "puck system 5th wheel hitch" this adapter will save you the expense of buying a complete new hitch Thanks.

Works great when you have an old rail system fifth wheel hitch and upgraded trucks. Saves you from buying a whole new fifth wheel hitch.

Do you have a question about this Fifth Wheel Hitch?

  • Difference Between Curt A25 and Q25 5th Wheel Hitches
  • The difference between the Curt A25 part # C16180 and the Curt Q25 part # C16265 is the jaw system. I have attached a photo for your reference. The A25 is an upgraded version of the Q25 because of it's interlocking jaw. The A25 interlocking jaw results in full contact with the king pin on the fifth wheel which reduces the rattle and chucking you may experience with a looser king pin connection. Although both options are great fifth wheel hitches with 25,000 lbs of towing capacity, the A25

  • Weight of Curt C16180 A25 5th Wheel Hitch for 2022 Ford F350 With OEM Puck System
  • The Curt A25 5th wheel hitch you'd looked at, part # C16180 weighs about 120 lbs, and the necessary # C88KR base rail to puck adapter weighs right at 70 lbs. The hitch is a bit heavy, but its weight can be significantly reduced by removing the hitch from the head, which is done by pulling one clevis pin. This breaks the hitch down into two pieces that are more easily handled. If you'd like to install a 7-way in your truck bed so you don't have to run the trailer connector up over

  • Difference Between The Curt Q25, Q24, and A25 For A 2022 Ford F-350 With OEM Prep Package
  • The difference in the Curt Q24, the Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16265, and the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16180 is that the Curt Q24 is the only hitch out of the 3 hitches that is a sliding hitch. These hitches are seen mainly on trucks with a short bed. Reason being, is the clearance needed to make sharp turns is out of the question without impacting the cab of the vehicle due to its mounting location. The slider allows the hitch to slide back giving additional room

  • What is the Difference between the Curt A25 and the B&W Companion 25K for My 2021 GMC Sierra 350?
  • This is a really great question. The B&W OEM Companion # BWRVK3715 and the Curt A25 # C16180 for the factory pucks on your 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 represent the very peak of fixed 5th wheel hitches on the market. Between the two options though I do recommend the B&W Companion # BWRVK3715 and I will go over my reasoning below. Both hitches feature a dual jaw design that's built to provide a really secure connection with the trailer as well as a smooth ride during travel. The B&W Companion

  • Can Reese Elite Fifth Wheel Hitch be Adapted to Fit Above Bed Rails
  • The Reese Elite hitches do not have a set of legs that can replace what they come with to allow them to fit above-bed rails like you mentioned. If you wanted a similarly rated fifth wheel hitch that does fit above bed rails I would recommend the Curt A25 part # C16180. The cross supports and handles on the Demco adapter # DM6333 sit slightly lower and will not interfere with a Husky slider hitch. It really comes down to a difference of about 1/2" or less.
