Very solid and well built. Installation took me longer than advertised. The instructions were a little vague, but I figured it out. A few extra carriage bolts and flange nuts would have been nice. All in all, everything lined up perfectly when I measured carefully as outlined in the instructions. I towed with it yesterday for the first time, and it worked great!

by: Roger05/25/2023

After ordering rails for a fifth wheel that I had in an older truck, I was told the rails I ordered would work with my fifth wheel, however after installing the front rail, the fifth wheel would not work with the rails ordered. I ended up ordering a new fifth wheel plate. That was easier than removing the frame brackets I had already installed. It appears that there was a mis communication between the person I talked to with etrailer. Instead of a 1/2 day install it took a day and a half plus wait time for the fifth wheel to get to my address. However once installed it appears to be good.

by: Park05/17/2023

The hitch worked great. Reason for the 2 stars is the package got delayed twice in transit and I had to reschedule the pickup of my fifth wheel. When I also received the package the main crossmember bar was bent at the mounting point. Luckily I was able to bend it back but UPS needs to get there act together.

My wife and I installed this in 3 hrs. We are in our mid 70’s. We had access to a 2 post lift which made this much easier as we could raise and lower the truck as needed for access. Although some say the instructions were vague I had no problem, just read them through first and begin. As the instructions stated some vehicles may have some differences as we found that the hole for the front driver side bolt needed to be drilled into the frame. After the bracket was mounted we just used the existing hole in the bracket as a guide. We previously installed an AIR LIFT AL59393 kit and it works great with this rail kit. We did our research to be sure they worked together. If you want to be sure about compatibility call etrailer and talk to one of the experts.

by: Phillip 04/25/2024

One year removed from installation at this point. Installation went as well as could be expected, as my truck had 350,000 miles and 23 years in service at the time of installation. Compounding the situation was a very thick spray-in bedliner and a pretty severe bow in the bed from a dropped load. I had to leave out a few of the rail spacers on account of the aforementioned handicaps. I'll report that with some careful, coordinated bolt tightening, after all items were in place, I have 2 heavy, high quality 5th-wheel rails that work well. I'm in the salt belt, (the truck is from Phoenix), so I re-painted everything that was exposed and it's held up well so far. I'd recommend for other customers, both the product and the store. etrailer is great and so is Curt - this is my second Curt product from etrailer and both were great experiences all-around.

by: Cody 05/21/2024

Great product that fit the way it should. Installed by my self in a few hours and then dropped on my fifth wheel hitch and proceeded to haul about 20,000lbs about 9,000 miles. Couldn't ask for better.

by: Kyle12/10/2023

Great price and works really well with the camper im pulling with no issues what so ever even sits low enough to have my bed cover on without removing any parts of the hitch

by: Julio11/09/2017

Well packed, free 5 days shipping, easy to assemble and nice looking hitch. Im extra amazed because i can remove the king pin base/head from the bridge leg assembly to easily transport them. Still not tested with the coach. Practically no lateral movement and have the suspicion bushings. Very firm and easy mechanisms. Do not leave the gate open for long term because could damage the main spring. I plan to pull a 11k 334FWFLS. Nothing compared to this hitch in this price range. I will add some extra feedback after couple travels.

2004 FordF-250 Super Duty

I ordered this for my 2004 Ford F250 Super Duty. Shipping was fast and arrived in good condition. Installation was straight forward and works perfect for the multiple 5th wheel hitches I’ve used it for. Would buy here again if I ever need anything else. Also, the price was the same or cheaper than elsewhere and the detailed and helpful website was the deciding factor why I purchased here.

by: Terry03/27/2022

The hitch looks great as shipped from etrailer. The problem was UPS destroyed the package and hitch. I have just started the claims process through UPS. I have always had great success with everything coming from etrailer until now. It was obvious the box had been dropped numerous times. It had been retapped a few times trying to hold it together. The steel crossmember was bent in two directions. It cannot be used which makes this hitch worthless. I see no fault with etrailer (except I recommend putting the cardboard package inside a heavier box to help UPS prevent damage). This package is around ninety pounds shipping in a thin cardboard box. I will be ordering a new hitch from etrailer and hoping for a better shipping experience. I have to postpone my vacation due to not having a working hitch.

by: Eljay02/24/2023

Great hitch, very impressed with shipping and communication with etrailer.

rails are working out just fine, no problems at all.

by: Jack02/20/2024

Used this 3 times and didn’t like the clunking. Should have expected the clunking with a slide bar type hitch. Purchased a Demco Recon which I like very much

by: Charles03/27/2020

The hitch arrived very fast, and was boxed well. It doesn't come assembled in order to reduce the shipping size, but it's super easy to assemble. Just four 1/2" bolts attach the legs to the main crossmember, and one small 3/16" bolt attaches the lever release arm. In all, it only took about 15 minutes to assemble and set in the truck. It even comes with the hitch pins needed to install on your rails. The only thing you'll need that's not included is about 4 to 8, 1/2" washers. Very happy with the hitch, and always look to etrailer.com for my replacement hauling/trailer parts!

by: T Purdy05/30/2019

Haven't had a chance to use the hitch yet but I got it installed without too much trouble. It took about 4 hours to install, the frame mounting brackets and rails, at a leisurely pace. The unit seems to be very sturdy and it is certainly built heavy. I'm looking forward to testing it out soon.

by: Brian T07/15/2016

I bought the curt fifth wheel and base to convert my B&W turnover ball and this thing fits perfectly it went together smoothly and in under an hour easily highly reccomend

by: Syd12/27/2023

I HAVEN'T HAD ONE PROBLEM WITH MY HITCH. I bought it about a year ago. I arrived sooner than I was told it would and it is still in the box. I never opened it or installed it. But I do plan to.

by: Tony02/07/2019

Its a great product and with the rail kit it makes an awesome beast for towing. It has provided great service and satisfaction so far.

by: Super Happy Customer05/20/2024
2001 FordF-250 Super Duty

Really slow shipping. The rails for some reason get shipped separately from the side mounted pieces, everything was marked delivered. A week later, I payed someone to come install it just for them to tell me the rails are not in the box. I still haven’t received the rails. The side mounts shipped fast, however the rails are currently being horse carried cross country and probably won’t be here until next year.

by: 01/26/2024

A little disappointing. The fit was good, and installation easy. But it was missing one of the critical long carriage bolts and spacer.
I didn't have time to send it back, so I had to fabricated a solution since I pick my new camper up in a few days.
Missing hardware definitely added to installation time.

Sorry for getting back so late as we have been very busy here at the shop. As this was the first order from etrailer.com, everything went very smooth with no problems from the original online order to receiving the order delivered in great shape. Great packaging. We will be ordering soon on our next project/repair in a few weeks. Thanks!

Installation of the Curt C16443-204 custom rail kit was a snap on my 2000 F350 dually. The instructions were pretty generic but not to hard to figure out. Once in place it was easy to line line everything up to fit the hitch in and tighten everything down.

  • Where To Install Base Rails In A 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Short Bed
  • The first base rail (closest to the tailgate) from your custom-fit kit will need to be installed 26-3/8" from the end of the bed. This means you'll measure from the end of the bed floor to the edge of the first base rail. I typically get it in place and then use a paint marker to mark out my bolt hole locations to begin drilling. Once the first rail is in place you can either measure from the center of the base back towards the cab 22" for the center of the rear base rail or you can

  • Greasing the E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
  • Curt recommends that hitches, such as your E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # C16115 be maintained once or twice a year by applying a light coat of wheel bearing grease to the surface of the slide bar that holds the kingpin in place. For best results, apply the grease with the slide bar in the closed position. Then pull the slide bar open and apply a light coating of grease to the slide bar shaft that the handle is attached to.

  • Will the Husky Silver Series 26K # HT31318-31325 Fit the Same Base Rails as a Husky 16K EZ Roller
  • The Husky Silver Series 26K HT31318-31325 is compatible with industry standard base rails like what come with the Kit # C16443-204 for your 2004 Ford F-250. Since the Husky EZ Roller uses base rails with the same attachment points you will have no issues using the 26K with your current setup. • Does Curt 5th Wheel Bracket Hardware have to be Replaced to Install Air Bags on a 2014 Ford F-250
  • Personally I would have gone with the longest breaker bar I could get in there. You wouldn't have needed strength so much as leverage. But that is a moot point since the bolts have been removed. Now we have to get you the right hardware! But, the Ride-Rite kit # F2597 for your 2014 Ford F-250, does come with bolts, nuts, and washers that go through that center hole in the frame and 5th wheel brackets. So the center bolts from the 5th wheel install kit are the only ones that needed to

  • Base Rail Kit for the Curt A20 on a 1999 Ford F-250 with Short Bed
  • The base rail kit I recommend for use with the Curt A20 on your 1999 Ford F-250 is the Curt Custom Base Rail Kit # C16443-204. This uses custom brackets that eliminate drilling into your vehicle frame but I don't recommend using same brackets from your RBW setup for these base rails because brackets and base rails need to be from the same manufacturer to ensure you have the correct weight capacity. Please note that since you have a short bed for your Super Duty it would be best to have

  • Installing A 5th Wheel Hitch In A Lifted 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty
  • There isn't any additional hardware to purchase to install your 5th wheel but you may need to lift the trailer to reach the minimum height clearance. The issue you're going to have with a lifted truck is the clearance between the nose of the fifth wheel and the bedrails of your truck. I've had some cases where the only option was too remove the lift to be able to tow the fifth wheel. To properly tow your 5th wheel you'll need to have 6" of clearance from the nose of your 5th wheel and 16"-24"
