Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
This hitch seems pretty sturdy and well built. etrailer placed a product video on several different hitches for my model with was very helpful in my decision. Easy to install and connected fine. It was very easy to find this part when I entered my vehicle information. The video's on how to install were spot on.
this is open a 2000 cherokee sport The back hitch was great went right up and all was nice fit just don't take off the bumpier the hitch hides the nuts and make it even harder to get off and on same with the front hitch and you can't put the bottom piece on but of then that it went right up the times they have are after you take the bolts and nuts off and clean it all then you can put them in at that time I broke two in the front and one in the back I had to weld a nut on to them to get them out P.S. the wiring harness is a must have very clean instill with it no cut wires I love that

I was a bit concerned at the beginning on whether or not I could successfully install a hitch on my new Jeep Cherokee. When I saw the installation video you offered there didn't seem to be anything that would prevent me from installing it. I was right ! The hitch actually arrived a day earlier than expected, late in the week and by that weekend I had it installed. The video, ( which YES I watched several times before beginning ) explained exactly what to expect. Your video indicated it was the closet thing to a factory install. That is exactly what I found. Because it was my first time installing a hitch it took me and a friend just under two hours. The results were definitely worth it. Thanks for the great product and all the additional assistance. R Hutchins
2018 Jeep Cherokee hitch. Installed the hitch finally, singlehanded. Attached photo is setup used to balance hitch on floor jack slide under vehicle and lift into position without second person. 2x4 is 34 inches long and secured with tiewraps to hitch and tube brace. 2016 video was better for my instance.

very bery easy to install. etrailer gave me all the tools i need(besides a socket wrench and socket ofcorse) but the screw wires which i was worries that it didnt come with, was included with the package!
Very happy with the hitch. Took me longer to install than the estimated time (2 hours) but I am 65 and so is my helper (wife). The directions were perfect. I purchased this so I can put a bike rack on my jeep.

Lousy install instructions for those with a skidplate especially. Curt obviously never installed one on a 97 thru 2001 Cherokee. The instructions were a revised copy which makes it just seem like no effort was made "Twice" at least. But it looks nice, Made in USA, functional.
Great hitch, like the look over square tube. Install was straightforward and easy, took about 30 minutes. Had a few days and already used several times. Feels very solid pulling down the road.

Product was easy to find and order. I was able to tract the order with ease with the online tracking system. The part was shipped within a reasonable time and was exactly the part i need and it fit great. I will order again and i will recommend to friends and family.
I added this trailer hitch and the matching wire harness to a 1999 Jeep Cherokee and could not be happier. This was a great value all the way around, shipping, product quality, fitment, and cost. The installation hardware included was more than comprehensive and it all worked perfectly. The videos produced by the firm were easy to follow, very helpful, and complete. This set up is exactly what I was hoping for and will make my future move considerably less expensive by allowing me to rent a trailer rather than a truck for at least half of the move. Thanks etrailer.com for a very high quality product at a tremendous value. Outstanding service!!!!!!!!

This package worked absolutely perfectly with my 2021 Cherokee Trailhawk. My only suggestion is that this setup substantially cuts down on your departure angle. Serious off-roaders beware. Not an issue for the majority of my applications. This is my second purchase from etrailer. Both times it was a painless process. Quality products, a very knowledgeable staff, and quality service and follow up. I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience.
I've had the Curt trailer hitch receiver on my 2020 Jeep Cherokee for about 1 year now and am very satisfied with it. It appears to be well built and high quality. I haven't had any issues with it and after a year of ownership have zero complaints. Installation was fairly easy and I performed it by myself in my driveway with my Jeep on a set of ramps. The most intimidating thing about the installation, at least for me, was removing part of the exhaust at the rear of the Jeep but it was not difficult and everything went smoothly. The Curt hitch can be installed by one person, as I did, but having two people install it would be easier as the hitch is fairly heavy and well built. After 1 year of ownership I would recommend the Curt hitch to anyone who owns a Jeep Cherokee, especially if you don't want to pay the dealerships markup on a factory hitch or one that the dealership will install for you for a premium price.

My experience has been great. The product is of very good quality. Delivery was fast and installation was simple. I had sold my truck and needed to have a way to haul various lumber items. A trailer was my choice. My purchase was for the Jeep Cherokee. My grandson had purchased a hitch some time before I did and he was pleased as well so it made my shopping easier. If you need a hitch, etrailer is an excellent source. I think you'll be happy.
The quality of the receiver is good. The installation was difficult due to the fact that the bolt holes on the receiver and the holes on the frame of the Cherokee did not line up perfectly. The bolts with the two plates designed to hold the receiver in place while you tighten all the other bolts did not line up making the installation very difficult

hitch mounted up fine. Heard knocking sound when Jeep Cherokee went over small bumps in road. Got out to check hitch receiver and it was tight. Crawled under car and noticed the passenger side exhaust tip was banging up against a corner of the hitch. Pulled rear section of muffler off and used an angle grinder to trim about 3/8” off the rounded corner of the hitch receiver on both sides. Works fine now. This receiver will only carry bicycles and not be used for towing. Could have been the passenger side exhaust tip was mounted to the muffler slightly different than the driver side.
Fit like a glove. Watched Install video and installed it within the hour by myself. Happy with the purchase.

Hitch was very well built. Great welds, and fit my Jeep Cherokee 1816 perfectly. Hitch was delivered very promptly (except for the one day delay of road closure)
Ridiculously easy to install on my 2015 Jeep Cherokee. All I used was my 1/2 torque wrench and a 21mm socket as described in the install video. The hitch was easy to handle. I did not even need help holding it up to install the bolts. Hitch appears to be good quality and was delivered ahead of schedule. i was a little concerned When I purchased the vehicle because it did not come with a factory hitch. We travel a lt with a small A frame trailer and we are hitting the road soon. The products and support at etrailer made the decision easier. I would add a picture but it would look just like the pictures already associated with the product.

etrailer.com was easy to order from, offered a great price, and the product shipped within two days. This particular hitch is a challenge to install on the Jeep Cherokee if trying to do it alone, so plan on having some help or getting a professional to complete the install. Finished product is great!

The hitch install was as simple as could be. My Cherokee had none of the options that would challenge the install like def reservoir, dual exhaust or spare tire. It took longer to set the torque wrench than it did to bolt it in place. Super simple, super easy. High quality and I like the look of the round tubes over the square one. Very happy!
I purchased a hitch for our 2013 Jeep Cherokee. I ordered on-line; and after receiving my confirmation - I noticed I made a mistake. I called customer service and they fixed the mistake immediately. The hitch arrived ahead of time; and I nstalled it in about 10 minutes. The wiring harness was a little more time consuming; but not difficult. Although; the ground wire was a little short; I had to splice in an additional length of wire. Overall; a very good experience - this is my second purchase; and would continue to buy from etrailer.com again.

Just has not so great installation instructions! At least in my case of my vehicle (2001 jeep xj) other than that it is Good quality, the welds seem good and strong. It lined up great with the holes in my frame and the install went smoothly. (After watching the install video that is). The diagram in the instructions was just a bit confusing due to the fact that it had certain hardware being installed on the wrong sides. A simple misprint and easily remedied by watching the install video.
Great fit for Jeep Cherokee XJ. My older model didn’t have nutcerts on driver side and e trailer sent more hardware asap. Great company. Great customer service. Best customer service experience I think I’ve ever had.

The hitch fits perfectly snug in my 2014 WK2 Jeep (Grand Cherokee). I did lay down 3 solid coats of black paint and 2 coats of clear coat to help prevent factory chipping and thus rusting. I've been putting my Thule bike carrier in and out with minimal wear and tear on the contact points. Great investment and I would do it again.
Excellent service

I installed this hitch receiver on a Subaru Outback. My car had dual exhaust, so the prep to get the receiver installed took a little longer than I had expected when reading other reviews and watching videos. But, besides that, the installation went smoothly. The bolt guide wires and using a helper were definitely the 2 big things that I would recommend to someone else. The only reason for not rating this Excellent is due to the way the part was packaged and shipped (from Missouri to Connecticut). The box arrived damaged, as the mounting surfaces had broken thru in 2 places, allowing the coating to be chipped off in several areas. Overall I'm happy with the receiver and have already used a cargo tray with it. The packaging could be better in my opinion.
Very easy installation, instructions were very clear. The included wires to fish bolts and hardware were a nice touch. Just beware removing the rubber exhaust hangers is a lot harder on an older rusty vehicle than, shown in the video on a new vehicle. Overall still an relatively easy installation.

Was delivered quickly. 2022 Nissan Frontier. I thought nuts were missing but realized bolts screwed directly in to the frame after reading included directions. Fit great. Install under 30 minutes. I've purchased several hitches from and always works good. Thanks!
The hitch looked nice, but it it didn’t just bolt on. We had to use C-clamps to make the holes line up, after a few hours we were able to make it work.

Perfect fit for my 2015 town and country. It's hauled everything from a light cargo carrier to a 3800lb popup camper.
I have been looking for a hitch for awhile now and then I came across your web page. I have seen Draw-Tite hitches on quite a few vehicles. So I went on to do a little research and to read quite a few of the reviews on this hitch here. After reading the reviews and the price of the hitch at that time I decided that I had found the hitch for my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew. I placed the order and the next day received a message that my order had shipped. The box arrived very quickly after I placed my order which was a pleasant surprise. One side of the box was really tore up and the hitch had come free of the strapping inside the box. The only thing inside the box was the hitch with the tongue/receiver wrapped in plastic wrap and the two pieces of cardboard that had come free. I search the inside of the box for some instructions but did not find any at this point so I would know exactly which bolts to take out. The first thing I did was to jack up the back of my van so I had a little more room to work underneath where the hitch was to go. Then I took off the passenger side rear tire to give me better access to the bolts that had to come out for the hitch and for the exhaust system to be lowered. I then took out the five bolts for the hitch and had to take out the three bolts holding up the exhaust to give me room to install the hitch. Then came the hardest part of the whole process and that was getting the hitch up to a point where I could get a bolt started. I tried using the exhaust system to help me but was still having a problem. So I got a cinder block I had in the garage and put it under one end of the hitch which was a better platform and really helped me getting the other side started. From that point on it went really well getting the other side started and then all five bolts in and tightened down. I then stepped back to see what it looked like and at this time I saw something white deep in the hitch receiver/tongue. When I pulled it out I noticed it was the instruction I had looked for earlier. It would have been nice to have these when I first started. A suggestion would be to put a notice on the plastic wrap that is wrapped around the receiver/tongue of the hitch that states "Instruction Enclosed" or "Packing Slip Enclosed" or just tape them to the inside of the box, not hidden inside a wrapped receiver/tongue of the hitch. I then went back and torqued the five bolts to what it stated on the sheet I found. I then put the three bolts back in the exhaust system to get it back in place which basically completed the installation of my Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch.

GREAT website and EASY to navigate to the right part needed! Cheaper prices than I could find on E-Bay too! LOVE THIS COMPANY!! I recently decided to get a new hitch for my 2001 Grand Jeep Cherokee so I started searching on E-bay and found one for a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and ordered it. (FROM ANOTHER COMPANY) Notice I said it was for a Jeep Cherokee. I didn't know that a Grand Jeep Cherokee and a Jeep Cherokee are two different style vehicles so I ended up with the wrong hitch. The order process was confusing. Once that part came in I realized it did not fit and while the company offered me a full refund IF I paid to ship it back I decided to try to sell it on Craigslist as shipping for something that heavy would be a lot! That's when I decided to try to find somewhere else to buy the hitch from and found Etrailer.com. As I said, VERY easy to pick the correct part for the right vehicle, GREAT prices, and quick service! Very happy customer!
I watched the video etrailer's provided, and sure enough it was as easy as the video said. I installed the hitch by myself. On my 2004 JG Cherokee I was able to lay under the back end width wise. By doing this I was able to hold one side up and screw 1 bolt in while hold the other side up with my knees. After you get one bolt in on both sides its a wrap. Only hard part was the two bolts that are under the bumper. If you have swivel ext than no problem. Thank you much etrailer.com!!!

I bought the trailer hitch and one of the connectors that were recommended and the connector bracket does not fit so I need a different connector. Also the angle on this hitch doesnt seem right. I bolt the 4 m12 bolts in and then the theres a gap of 1/2 inch where the 1/4 inch spacers are supposed to go.
I've never installed a hitch prior to putting this one on. Guided by the YouTube video that walked me though each step, it went about as smoothly as can be. It was a perfect fit on my Traverse. I've had no issues with the hitch since then. I don't tow something every day, but I've used it a handful of times, and it has not failed me.
Best 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailer Hitch Options
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the best trailer hitch options for a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. Now, when looking at hitches for your vehicle, they can all kind of start to look the same, and sometimes it's hard to decipher which one's the best for your vehicle. etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Jeep Cherokee
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look and installing the etrailer trailer hitch receiver on a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. And when choosing a hitch, a lot of times they all start to look kind of alike. And until you see it on the vehicle, that's when you really start to see the details or not see the details. And that's because this is a hidden cross tube, meaning the main portion of the hitch that is structurally mounted to the vehicle is actually hidden behind the bumper. So you're not gonna see that unsightly tube.
etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Jeep Cherokee
Hello neighbors it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the etrailer trailer hitch receiver, on a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. Now this is what the hitch is gonna look like when it's installed and you'll see pretty quickly that this is an exposed cross tube. So you are able to see the hitch while it's on the vehicle. But really as you stand back it does stay kind of hidden because it is a little bit lower. Now this is a two inch by two inch receiver opening, so that's gonna be great for a number of different accessories. So whether you're towing, or if you're just using a bike rack or cargo carrier.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Jeep Cherokee - Draw-Tite

This offers the 2 inch by 2 inch opening, its part number is 75998. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. As you can see, we're adding very little to the rear of the Cherokee. As far as the Cherokee hitches are concerned, this is one of my favorites. I really like the way it looks. we don't have that cross tube that's going to go all the way across, it's going to remain completely hidden up here behind our fascia.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Jeep Cherokee - Curt
Today in our 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport, we'll be installing the Curt class three trailer hitch receiver, part number C13172. Here's what the hitch looks like installed. As you can see, the only thing you can really see hanging down the vehicle at all is the actual class 3 inaudible 00:00:17 receiver here with the safety chain loops attached to it. The main body of the hitch is completely hidden behind the rear fascia of the vehicle so it's a real clean install. It looks exactly like what a factory hitch would look like on most vehicles. It also sticks in nicely from the rear bumper cover here so when you're walking behind the back of the vehicle to put stuff in the hatch, you don't have to worry about running your knee into it or your legs. That's a nice selling point of it there. This hitch has a maximum ton weight rating of 750 pounds and a max trailer weight rating of up to 5,000 pounds.

"Excellent company to deal with....I received the hitch I ordered promptly and easily installed it as the instructions described. I might add the hitch is mostly hidden from view without detracting from the appearance of my van."
