The difference between the Class II and Class III hitches has to do with their Gross Trailer Weight (GTW), their Tongue Weight (TW), and their Hitch Receiver Size. Class II trailer hitch receivers have a 1-1/4 inch receiver and can be rated up to 3,500 lbs in GTW and up to 525 lbs in TW. Class III, on the other hand, have a 2 inch receiver and have up to 8,000 lbs GTW and 800 lbs TW. I will attach a help article that goes in to more detail for you.

Hey Linda, because of how heavy e-bikes are there aren't any trunk mounted e-bike racks available. You would have to install a hitch on your 2016 Mazda CX-5 like the part # e98902 so that you could use an e-bike rack like Hollywood Racks Destination part # HLY66ZR.
The extra weight of an e-bike would just be too much panels of a vehicle which is why they don't make any like that.

On your 2020 Mazda CX-5, you have enough crossbar spread for the required 24-32 inches of the Yakima RocketBox Pro # Y07192. Also, according to your attached photo, you have the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars like the # TH711400 installed. With these crossbars, the RocketBox will be able to attach to your crossbars. In addition, since you have a measurement of 54 inches from the center of your front crossbar to the line where the roof and hatch meet, you have enough space to fully open your... view full answer...
That's a great question Richard and thanks for the kind words! It's an error that I'll get someone to check on. Our etrailer Hitch item # e98902 is going to have the same installation process and difficulty as the Curt item # C13315.
You've got a good eye. The Curt item # C13315 and our etrailer item # e98902 hitches are indeed made at the same factory. Curt makes our house brand hitches for us so the hitch, hardware, and fish tools are identical with the exception of the matte finish... view full answer...
Hey Ben, the MORryde Easy Reel Spooler # MR47RR that you referenced is not designed to be used like that unfortunately. You would put one end of the cord into the middle of the spool and then reel it all up when not in use. What that means is that you can't access the other end at all if it's on the reel so it has to totally come off of it. view full answer...
I'm not sure how the OEM hitch installs on your 2020 Mazda CX-5, but the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98902 requires zero trimming of the bumper. It is designed to fit around the muffler and the receiver hangs just below your bumper as you can see in the attached photo.
We actually had the chance to install this hitch on a 2020 CX-5 so you can check that out as well. If you let me know what you plan on using the hitch for I can make some recommendations for you. view full answer...
Hey Cheryl, congrats on the new car. The wheel trays are a bit different on the Saris SuperClamp Bike Rack for 2 Bikes item # SAR84YR. If you have a 29" tire they're 3" wide but if you have a 27-1/2" or smaller tire they're 4-1/2" wide. This bike rack accommodates bikes weighing up to 60 lbs a piece and wheelbases that are 28" to 52" wide.
The Saris SuperClamp item # SAR84YR will not stick out past the sides of your CX-5 when folded up. I have attached a picture below of this bike rack... view full answer...
For your application I recommend going with a Thule WingBar Evo roof rack because they look sleek and are easier to install than most other roof racks. The correct parts depends on if your 2022 Mazda CX-5 has a bare roof or the flush mount rails:

53" WingBar Evo Crossbars - Black # TH711420 or Silver # TH711400
Evo Clamp Feet - # TH710501
Fit Kit - # TH145079
Lock Kit - # TH450400 (optional)
Flush Rails
47" WingBar Evo Crossbars - Black # TH711220 or Silver # TH711200

Hello Dennis, welcome back! The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76138 does include four fish wires. I attached a picture from the instructions below which lists the included hardware.

To find the correct brake light switch wire on your 2017 Mazda CX-5 you will need to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 and find the wire that only shows power when the brake pedal is depressed; that will be the correct wire to hook up.
To install a brake controller like the best-selling Prodigy P3 # 90195 on your 2017 Mazda CX-5 you first need to install Wiring Harness # 118746 to get a 4-way connector and as you mentioned, you'll also need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer... view full answer...
Hey Michael, so to install a 7-way on your 2019 Mazda CXC-5 you'd need to first start with a 4-way kit like the Tekonsha part # 118746 which is custom fit and very reliable. This covers the taillight functions of the trailers and is ready to be used with a 7-way adapter like the # 37185.
If the trailer has brakes that need to be operated as well you'd instead need the 7-way adapter part # ETBC7 and a brake controller like the P3 part # 90195 instead of the 37185. The ETBC7 comes with the... view full answer...
Hey Larry, for your 2022 Mazda CX-5 I would recommend the etrailer hitch part # e98902 as it's mostly hidden with only the hitch opening hanging below the rear bumper and also it has great towing capacities. Will you be towing a trailer or is this for like a bike rack? view full answer...
Hello David. The Go Power Solar AE-4 All Electric System with MPPT Solar Controller # 342-75010 is a full solar kit. So you can use it, and you will be replacing your current solar setup with the new controller, panels, remote ect...
This kit can work with up to 6 panels so you can use your current 2 as well as the 4 that come with the kit, provided there is room on your roof. If you already have the cables for your current panels, there is nothing else you need to buy separately.

Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out!
I recommend going with the Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Roof Rack which comes in Gray # KU33VR as well as Black # KU53VR.
This kayak carrier system looks really sleek when folded in the "stored" position, but it's also the only J-Style cradle that comes with T-Slot mounting hardware like what you're wanting to use.

The padded ratcheting hooks on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY74FR that you were looking at can slide up and down the length of the vertical mast, so they should be able to grab onto the frame of a step-thru bike like yours. With that being said if the step-thru is more dramatic than most you may just need to add an adapter bar like # HRBA-PRO to create a horizontal attachment point for a secure connection. view full answer...
The Curt hitches part # C13127 and # C13315 are both a fit for your 2016 Mazda CX-5 whether it's the mid year update or the older style 2016 model. At first one hitch was designed to fit the newer and older model but then the figured out they both fit both models.
So essentially you have two similar hitches that install differently for the same vehicle with slightly different capacities.
The part # C13315 has the higher capacities at 600 lbs tongue weight and 4k total trailer weight and... view full answer...
The Draw-Tite # 76138 will fit the 2021 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring, but these models have an additional underbody trim piece that will need to be permanently removed for hitch installation. Though we have not done an install on a Grand Touring model as of yet, I did include an install video we did for you to take a look at. view full answer...
Hey KJ, so the bow/curve you have in the factory crossbars of your Mazda is very common and wouldn't be an issue at all with the Inno Wedge roof cargo box part # INBRM864MBK that you referenced. view full answer...
You'll need to install a roof rack first on your 2019 Mazda CX-5 that has no side rails but once you do so you'd easily be able put a Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH6358B or the Pulse L # TH615 that you mentioned.
For a roof rack I would highly recommend the Thule Wingbar Evo roof rack part numbers # TH711400, # TH710501, and # TH145079 as this is a very high quality roof rack for your CX-5 that is easy to install and has aero shaped crossbars to give you a very quiet ride quality. view full answer...
