Although the order was held up for some reason and then snow caused a delivery hold up, I finally got the part and it is exactly what I needed. I haven't had the need to use it yet, but the problem I purchased it for is resolved. So unless there is some sort of manufacturer fault, I can't see any reason this adapter wouldn't serve the purpose I bought it for. I would certainly suggest & buy other trailer needs from etrailer.com again. 606695

  • 7-Way Diagram Recommendation to Test Wiring of Motorhome with
Most likely you have a 7-way at the rear of your tow vehicle which I attached a diagram for how it would be pinned out. You'd want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the pins of the 7-way to make sure they match the diagram.

  • What Will The Center Pin Function Be On Hopkins 7-Way Blade To Round Pin Adapter
Yes, the Adapter 7 Way (Blade) to 7 Way (Round Pin), will make the center pin the brake control function. Looking at the connector if it were mounted on the back of your vehicle, from the top 12 o clock position going clockwise would be the following, White for ground, Black for 12 volt power, Yellow for left brake and turn, Purple for reverse lights at the 6 o clock position, Green right brake and turn, Brown tail and running lights. I have linked pictures of the connector diagrams...

  • Color Clarification Regarding Wiring Issues of a 7 pin Trailer Blade Connector
Figuring out what color wire goes to what function is sometimes quite confusing. I have attached a diagram which covers both the most common wire colors designated for a seven pin trailer connector and a seven pin vehicle connector, referencing the wiring colors for each blade and what each blade is responsible for. If you look up part # H20046, you will see about 1/3 of the way down the page a chart that will give you a wiring guide. It gives you the color of the wire and how it relates...

  • How to Wire Up a 6-Way on a Hawk Trailer
Since trailer wires colors are not always consistent among manufacturers the best way to figure the functions of each circuit is to test each circuit individually. There are two ways you can do this, the easier way is to get a car battery and run a jumper wire from the positive side of the battery to each of the wires in question. When you put current on each circuit you should be able to see what functions activate, which will tell you what does what. I would recommend you label each...

  • Solution for Towing a European Trailer with a US Spec Tow Vehicle
The only solution I could help you with would be the third option you listed. You would want a trailer side 7-way like part # H20042 to wire up to an EU socket found local to create an adapter to use your US spec vehicle with EU trailer wiring. I attached a chart that labels the functions of the wires on this connector. The Adapter 7 Way (Blade) to 7 Way (Round Pin) # 47595 that you referenced is not an adapter for EU wiring nor do we offer any adapters for EU trailers or vehicles.

  • 7-Way Round Pin to 7-Way Blade Style Adapter
We have two adapters to go from a 7-Way round pin on a tow vehicle to a 7-Way blade style on a trailer. You could use either # PK12-724 or # HM47425. But the length is not close to 4 or 5 feet. What you could do is make an adapter. You would need 3 main parts: 7-Way round trailer side, # PK11702, 7-Way blade vehicle end, # PK12-707E, and 4 or 5 feet of jacketed 7-Wire, # DW04914-1. Just change the quantity on the wire page to the amount of feet you want.

  • Adapter for Trailer with 7-Way Round Connector and 2012 Honda Ridgeline with 7-Way Blade Connector
It sounds like the connector on the boat is an adapted 4-Way to use with a 7-Way round pin trailer connector on a vehicle. That would be why there are just 4 pins, 3 for the lighting functions and 1 for ground. If that is the case then the 7-Way blade to 7-Way round adapter, # 47595 should work just fine. Most boat trailers have the basic lighting functions but do not have the components that require the other circuits such as 12 volt accessory power and electric brakes.

  • Availability of Wiring Adapter to Convert 7-Way RV Connector to 9-Pole Round Pin on 1984 Jayco
9-pin connectors are rare these days. We do still offer vehicle and trailer side connectors of this type, such as # PK12907 and # PK12906, but we do not have any adapters that can convert your truck's 7-way blade-style RV connector to a 9-pole round pin type. A 9-pole connector like # PK12906 has two extra circuits (auxiliary on the gray wire and reefer on the orange) that would not be supported if fed by a 7-way socket.
