Trailer sway on the highway or in windy conditions can turn a trip into a white-knuckle drive. The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System keeps everything steady with four points of built-in sway control. The trunnions in the head assembly hold the spring bars under constant tension, automatically forcing the trailer in line, while the rotating lift brackets keep the chains tight and stable. The result is smooth, predictable tracking even when passing semis or towing in crosswinds—no extra sway bar needed, and you can still back up without disconnecting.

Uneven weight transfer can cause sagging, poor handling, and uneven braking. This system distributes the load evenly over all axles, creating a more level and stable ride. It’s rated for 15,000 lbs gross towing weight and 1,000 to 1,500 lbs tongue weight, so it’s built to handle substantial trailers. The trunnion-style spring bars flex under load for a controlled ride that stays comfortable mile after mile.
Some weight distribution systems make you fight with complicated head angle adjustments or stiff lift brackets. The SwayPro simplifies the process. The required tilt is already built into the head assembly—no washers, no fine-tuning. Just move the head to the right height on the shank and tighten it down. The rotating-latch lift brackets work with a simple wrench turn to secure the chains, locking automatically with a push pin. It’s fast, clean, and easy to set up every time.

The SwayPro’s self-locking trunnion bars snap securely into place and remove with a quick lift of the locking pins—no loose clips or greasy parts to wrestle with. The clamp-on brackets attach directly to 3"–6" trailer frames and require no drilling, keeping your setup simple and your trailer intact. With a shank that fits 2" hitches and offers up to 13" rise or 7" drop, it’s ready to dial in the perfect towing height. Powder-coated steel construction and two grease zerks in the head assembly make it durable, quiet, and easy to maintain for years of towing.

Great hitch easy setup pulled 120 miles to OBX had 15-20 mph wind gust hitch worked great on a 36ft forest river classic. I will note one of the cams seemed to be looser on the shale than the other one will keep a check on it make sure not a defect. Taelor at trailer was great to work with followed up to make sure I was all set. Thanks Taelor!!
I have had this hitch for my smaller camper for years. Now that I am upgrading to a larger camper, I wanted to make sure that I was ready with the new Blue Ox Sway Pro. Absolutely love this hitch.
Just got the weight distribution hitch today. I think all the parts are here. Some scuffs and scratches. Wasn't packed well at all. The hitch head was hanging out of the box. The box was not strong enough for the hitch and its parts. Other than that, the Blue Ox looks to be well built and a nice hitch.
It works great! Assembly instructions were easy to follow also was able to look up an installation video on YouTube as well. Went slow it was about an hour install time. Once hooked up couldn’t even tell I was pulling my trailer,
Works great. I pulled an 18k trailer and the hitch performed as expected. I didn’t read the instructions on how to use the roll over chains which led to one dragging a few miles but I would buy them again. Love that you can use different springs based on your needs. Overall great product.
The product so far is great. It was easy to install and seems to work well. The instructions are a different story. They don’t have a whole lot of details and leave you guessing sometimes. The hitch is quite. Just remember when you are hoisting the truck and trailer up to get rid of the tension, you need to go higher than you might think. It’s especially important when unhitching. If you have to much tension left in the bars, it will spin the wrench out of your hands. Don’t ask how I know. I bought this to replace a friction anti sway. It was difficult to set up, was noisy and and didn’t work as well as this seems to. The purchase was easy and the shipping was good. I did not need to call and ask questions because the web page worked well. Free shipping on the hitch was great because it is fairly heavy. Thanks!
This WD system is so easy to install (compared to Reese Strait Line With Dual Cams). Had a little problem cranking the rotating bracket until I realized the chain had to go on the other side...then easily locked in place. Only have had it out on one trip and it seemed like a smooth ride. Maybe on the way home we'll have a large vehicle go by to see if the trailer sways at all. Heavy duty parts.
Hitch did exactly what it was designed for. In fact while hauling I was forced off the road at about 68mi an hour steered to come back on the road, 6in rise truck jumped in the air trailer wheels came off the ground rocked from side to side almost turning on its side, but everything held together and straightened out and we were able to finish our trip
I’ve had the SwayPro hitch for about a year now, with well over 1000 miles of towing. Settings the chain tension is critical - I started by towing with the factory suggested number of links, then towed with added and subtracted links to find the best balance of ride, sway control, and adjusted the ball attachment to then set the final ride height. It took some time and needed a high range torque wrench, but the result was excellent towing in all conditions. Recently, I changed tow vehicles. This required re-adjusting the ball mount to keep correct height, then again trying different numbers of links in the tension chains, but I once again I found the sweet spot and am thoroughly pleased with this hitch. Compared to the simpler and cheaper hitch I had before, its well worth the extra cost and the extra effort to be able to get it “just right.”
Showed up right on time and everything I ordered was in the shipment .Very pleased with everything
Just what I needed. Easy to install, arrived on time, and packaged well.
I purchased the Blue Ox Sway Pro (15,000 lbs GTW) clamp on to pull my 14K tilt bed PJ T6 trailer. The trailer is a 6 inch C channel frame trailer. I worked with Troy who was very helpful and assured me that I would get the Blue Ox in time for a trip within the next 4 days. The shipping was very fast and I received it in just 2 days. However, I did not understand the clamp on set up is only for box framed trailers. Therefore the clamp on lift brackets would not work correctly. I did not see this information anywhere on the site regarding which trailer frame type is right for the various setups (box or C channel). I called Etrailer after finding this out and was told I could purchase the bolt on lift brackets separately but I would basically eat the ones I had. So my weight distribution hitch would now cost me NOT HAPPY. Be sure to ask about the type of lift bracket attachment for your trailer frame type.

The clamps on this WDS system part # BXW1506 may not install properly on a c-channel trailer frame. c-channel frames will need the bolt on bracket option part number: BXW4021.
installed very easy didn't want to use the 11 hole shank but to get the right ride had to use the last hole turned down that what it takes on 4wd expedition to get ball to 18 "
thanks the ride is great now

great easy to use
Very easy to use and adjust. Worlds of improvement over older style that I used to have. I use it without the tension bars as well almost every day for multiple trailers.
Very quick processing of my order and fast shipping. This is great item at a good price for the quality. I will recommend etrailer to anyone.
etrailer.com has the e-commerce figured out. Great website. Quality products at reasonable prices. Fast shipping.
After purchasing/pulling my my 32’ weekend warrior with the supplied sway control, I was terrified by the amount of sway I was experiencing after fully loading with the toys. This Blue Ox tamed the beast 99%. Be mindful on how you distribute your load weight when overstuffing your toy hauler and you’ll have zero issues. Great product!!
I just received this yesterday, and will be using it this weekend to tow a 34 1/2' Toy Hauler home from Virginia. It is extremely heavy/well made and the powder coating looks like it was applied very well. Should be a great W.D. hitch system that will last for many years
The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution BXW1506 does the job very well . Unfortunately the finish does not hold up well . The rust on it makes it look much older than its one year age .
Product arrives in excellent condition, all parts included. Service was excellent which brings me to the loss of 1 star.
Hitch ball was purchased however etrailer will not mount and in the Blue Ox requires a socked to tighten the recessed nut to 450 ft lbs
It would have been nice to have received the until with hitch ball mounted and torqued to spec.
Now I’m waiting for my [online box store] order to arrive.
In addition I informed the sales person I needed a 15k ball he chose the long shank version. Don’t know yet but I hope my ordered socket will have enough depth to complete the install or another ball or socket will have to be resourced.
This weight distribution system is a replacement for my original system which failed after 8 years of hauling a variety of travel trailers. I spent some time researching the type I wanted and the Blue Ox SwayPro was highly recommended by a fellow airstreamer. I was impressed with its simplicity and no additional sway control being required. The website is excellent, you just put in your vehicle details and the appropriate systems are displayed. The BXW 1506 is for 1500 lbs maximum tongue weight and comes with the eleven hole, 2” receiver hitch mount. I needed to mount with the long portion pointing down, this gave me about 4” of ground clearance. (Ideal for ripping permafrost but not state park campgrounds). The support from customer service was outstanding and the appropriate part BXW4001 was selected and shipped very quickly.
The hitch was installed using the enclosed instructions and after viewing videos on the etrailer website.
It looks good and seems to be doing what it is intended to do. I have a short camping trip in a few days so this will test the system.
Thank you etrailer for your swift knowledgeable service.
Easy to install. I was very curious as to how this would work as both a weight distributing hitch and sway control all in one. I was very surprised. I have used it on 3 trips on a 4 lane highway at highway speeds and with being passed and passing tractor trailers, it performed extremely well. I would recommend to anyone wanting a weight distributing hitch and sway control in one unit.
I decided to give a SwayPro hitch a try when I purchased a new TT (37' TT). The previous two Equalizer hitchs (24' TT and 33' TT) I had owned worked fine, but I hated having to stop and get out to tighten/loosen the anti-sway device when having to maneuver around and they were noisy.
I installed the SwayPro myself, it was very easy to do. The instructions are clear, and the online videos very helpful. I waited to make this review until after making a couple of trips with the trailer. The trailer is very locked in behind the vehicle and that sucking over as a large vehicle goes past was non-existent, was very surprised and happy. I expected a little of this since this trailer is taller and longer than my last ones. Love being able to remove the equalizer bars and store in the trailer compartment without worrying about getting grease everywhere. Super easy to get hooked up and ready to go.
I spent a few dollars more getting the SwayPro. Every extra dollar was worth every penny, this is a great hitch design with many advantages, wish this had been my first equalizer type hitch.
I purchased this hitch system to pull a 10,500 pound V-nose enclosed 8.5'x28' - 8' high trailer.
I had to purchase the 1500 pound tongue weight system and because of the cargo that's loaded. I had to cut off 3 inches of the bottom of the receiver, because it hung down to low. I pull all of this with the 2016 ford F150 Max trailer package which sits lower than a heavy duties, that's where I attribute having to cut off 3 inches because it was scraping into the ground as I drove. Other than that issue this hitch system all but removes every bit of sway up to approximately a 45 mile an hour side wind. It is so simple to back up with the system as well, not having to remove the bars is awesome. If you are trailering anything with the F1 50 you should also purchase a spring package for the rear leaves to help with the tongue load is well. Now that we worked The bugs out it is a great system and will continue to use this on all trailers until something better comes along, I could not recommend this enough !!!!
