Note: Flexo-Coil electrical cords are not to be used with Roadmaster tow bars with cable channel guides, such as the All Terrain models. For those tow bars, use the straight electrical cords

Today we're going to review the RoadMaster Flexo-Coil 4-Wire Kit. Part #RM-164. With this part number, this is what you get. Two round 4-pole ends on the cord and two matching sockets. This is great for electrical setups between your RV and your towed vehicle that just use lights. Your circuits will be left turn, right turn, running lights and ground. Right now it's pretty compact. You can see it's all coiled up.
This will stretch out a maximum of 8 feet. Now the outside of the cords are designed to be water, oil and chemical resistant. Also inside the plug, if we could show you, would be injected with silicon to help protect the insides. As you can see in our connectors here that go on your RV and your towed vehicle, it doesn't come with any brackets. So you want supply some form to hold it up there in place. This is a bracket that will work with a 4-pole connector.
It also comes with hardware to attached to bracket to the 7-pole connector. Although you do have to supply your own hardware of two holes for wherever you mount your bracket to. In a typical application, this is what a bracket and a 4-pole connector looks like. We can see our four pins that are constructed out of brass inside a plastic fitting inside this whole connector. When you put these together, always make sure that this tab right here goes towards the top. It fits in this little D tin right here on the lip.
There is also a key on the bottom to fit with this slot. It's tempting to remove it by just grabbing the cord. You can get finger hold on the sides here so I can pull it apart like that. This is a Fleco-coil and actually holds it's shape and takes up the slack when it's being used between your car and RV. With that in mind, you want to make sure that these are not to be used with the RoadMaster tow bars with the cable channel guides such as the all terrain models. With those tow bars use the straight electrical cord. All right and that will finish for RoadMaster Fleco-Coil 4-Wire Kit.

I will not be able to install my ordered parts until I have the necessary time to do the job right. All parts were delivered in good time and in great condition
Durable and well constructed, you know when it is connected.
It has worked great for me
Works great with the extra length. I have an extended hitch length due to towing a small car and therefore had to add a 4 inch drop which added extra hitch length. My precious umbilical cord got damaged by being to short and pulling out.
Customer Service rep Steve was outstanding to work with. Ordered the Flexo-Coil 6 wire kit and it was here within 3 days. Haven't tried it yet but it looks great and i'm sure it will work fine.
Very well made, complete kit with a good quality socket for each end. I found the cable a bit short, although the coiled section allows the wire to stretch, the coiling is very strong and resulted in the plugs being pulled out of the sockets unless I strapped the sprung loaded lid to the plug.
