I sent an email to verify the correct trailer plug for my Sub and they responded in a timely manner. Made the purchase and it fit perfectly!

by:

Just what we were looking for! The 2007 Chevy truck needed a replacement connector and this did the job!

by:

I twisted this connector into the stock location and the locking tab that keeps it from twisting back out broke off. I locked it into place with a screw so it won’t twist out. Disappointed that it broke so easily .

by:
2013 GMCSierra

Broke my trailer electrical socket on my GMC pickup, I’m 1,500 miles from home waiting for the snow to start melting to go home. The local GM dealer wanted over $70.00 for replacement part. Found this one at etrailer.com for $16.95. I had it sent priority mail as mail has been slow here in AZ , received in six day and took less than five minutes to install. Hate to leave AZ , but home in SD is calling. We will be be back next winter. Thanks to etrailer for saveing me money I’ll need for gas home.

GMCSierra

Fits perfectly and works as intended

by:

This connector arrived fast and was very easy to install. Took about two minutes to put in. It seems to be of very good quality.

by:

Very easy...Installed in about 10 seconds. Product did not completely cover the holes through the bumper that existed from the factory harness insert. So you can see light a little bit of light around the product.

by:
2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Perfect fit for my 2008 Silverado. Identical to the adapter used in my wife's 2007 Suburban, except hers says "GM" and mine says "Pollack." This is all assuming it works, I haven't hooked a trailer up to it yet.

by:

Fast shipping, superior product, I would definitely buy again!

by:

Works perfect just like GM specs....fast shipping

This looks like my GMC 2006 connector. What is the year of your truck. The spec says it is for 2007 and up.

I have a 07 Chevy Avalanche

by:

Looks to be good quality. Easy to install.

Remove
the old connector by depressing the keeper, turning it counter clock wise about a quarter turn, slide it out, depress the keeper on the wiring harness connector and unpluging the unit. Install the new connector by pluging in the wiring harness connector, sliding the unit through the bumper hole and turning it about a quarter turn clock wise to lock it in place. It took less time than writing this.

After a year, I still believe this product is well made of high quallity products. It is operating well as I expected it would. Thank you for building and selling this product.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Old electric plug in on my 2007 Chevy 2500 was worn out. Cord from RV would not stay plugged in. Went on line on E-Trailer, ordered a new part for GM vehicles, when it arrived, it took me about five minutes or lees to remove the plug all I needed was a small regular blade screwdriver. New part woks fine. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have ordered from E-Trailer. I have always been satisfied. Thank you Ken Hill

Still working great

by:
GMC

Fit no issues tight and quality. Spot on. 2011 gmc 2500hd fit right in the factory light plug in. Those that don’t have the 7 way connector already in it this adapts.

by:

Worked out great just want I needed.
When
I called was very helpful and understood what I was looking for

by:

Replaces plug with broken cover tab. Old plug matches photo. Correct model year replacement not exact duplicate but fits cutout and wire harness. Average price. Very fair shipping fee.

This little marvel was a piece o' cake to install. Less than 10 minutes from taking it out of the box to installing in the bumper of my Chevy and wiping my hands on my pants. If my nosy and talkative neighbor wouldn't have been staring over my shoulder, it would have been installed in under 5 minutes.

2007 GMC Sierra Classic

Exact fit and works great. I couldn't give it a 5 because it rotates slightly in the mount which doesn't seem to affect it's function, but the old factory part that it replaced didn't do that.

Chuck K.

1/4/2018

Have had no problems with it.

REPLACED OEM PART PERFECTLY. TWISTED OUT THE OLD ONE AND REPLACED IT WITH THE NEW ONE, PLUGGED IN THE HARNESS AND WAS GOOD TO GO.

They are all still performing well.

by:

Couldn't have been any easier. Hardest thing was opening the package??.

by:

After 18 years, my original trailer plug connector was showing signs of corrosion. When I bought a travel trailer with electric brakes, I knew I could no longer trust my old connector. I purchased this replacement because it is identical to the OEM connector which I knew was excellent quality, not a cheap knock-off. It was simple to install and the wire connector plugged right in. I've been using it extensively for a year now and it's been working flawlessly. I'm glad I purchased this quality connector that I can trust.

by:

This part, which was not available at the local parts store, is an exact replacement for the connector I damaged. Easy installation.

  • No Brake Power to Trailer Brakes on a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Without Factory Tow Package Wiring
Installation of a brake controller on the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado requires using the Universal Brake Control Wiring Adapter, item # 3015-S, making some connections under the hood and running a wire to the rear of the vehicle to the trailer connector. We have a informational article that details how to install a brake controller on your vehicle, see link. Start at the section labeled Vehicles without Factory Installed 7-way and go to step two to begin. In photo D you will see a blue wire...

  • Does the Blue Brake Output Wire for a Trailer Brake Controller Have a Fuse on a 2006 Chevy Silverado
The brake controller power wire should be fused and the 12 volt power wire that goes back to the 7-Way trailer connector will be fused. The blue brake output wire is not fused unless it is fused through the factory tow package. You can find the tow package fuses under the hood in the power distribution box. On 1999 to 2006 Chevy and GM trucks there are some specific things that need to be done on some models in order to make the brake controller and 7-Way fully functional. I have included...

  • Troubleshooting Weak Trailer Brakes Towing with a 2008 Chevy Silverado Using an OEM Brake Controller
It sounds like you need to check the trailer braking system out. I would start by making sure that the connectors on the vehicle and trailer are connected properly, and that there is no corrosion in either of the connectors. Corrosion can rob power from the trailer brakes especially because the trailer brake circuit is in the lower position in the connector and next to the ground wire. Using some dielectric grease, item # 11755, in the connection can often help a great deal. Make sure...

  • Left Turn Signal Pin has No Power on Factory 7-Way on 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
It is likely a blown trailer package left turn/brake light fuse on your 2011 Chevy Silverado. In the fuse block it is in location 3 labeled Left Trailer Stop/Turn Lamp. If the fuse is good then it could be a loose or damaged wire or a dirty/corroded trailer connector on the vehicle. Make sure there are no pinched or broke wires and repair as needed. Make sure the trailer connector is clean and free of corrosion inside, where the wires attach, and outside on the pins.
